Did anyone see cocaine Taylor tonight? Made three impressive tackles in the ruck in roughly 4 seconds.

Guys if you get a chance, take a minute to take your hat off to Ricky Stuart and congratulate him.

3 out of the 4 teams he's coached are in the top 8.

Well done.

It is Melbourne's to lose, and they don't beat themselves.

2nd is Chooks and we played crap and got within 2. They only beat the Tits by 4. Their halfback is a proven loser. They're no hope.

3rd is the Broncos and while they can pile on the points they've benefit greatly from the whistle, if they cop an even penalty count they're in ****.

4th is Parra who are just hands down no ****en hope. They put 52 on Brisbane but conceded 34. Not this year.

I still believe we are the only team in the 8 who are capable of beating Melbourne. Whether we perform as such and get to the games that matter against them is anyone's guess. But no other top 8 side can beat the Storm.

Best case scenario for us would be ...

Finish 5th
Storm beats Parra
Roosters beat Brisbane
Dragons lose today
We would play depleted Cowboys week 1, Parra week 2 and Roosters week 3, all in Sydney.

Worst case scenario would be the opposite results! Play the Dragons , then Travel to Melbourne, then travel to Brisbane.

If we could make our way through and not have to face Storm until the GF I'd give us a fair ****en chance.

Should handle Cows. Big D will **** Parra then against the Chooks who are vulnerable unless they're switched right on, but our best D will pressure them into mistakes then if we can capitalise with the ball we'll be right.

Get through we mongrel it out with Melbourne. Probably be the whistle that decides it.

Seriously, will this Melbourne side be regarded as the most dominant in the competition's history?

It's difficult to recall a team that has shown such little weakness.

Carried all by one player, is Smith the modern day Joey?

Modern game, yes. But think back to the saints.......

From 2006 to 2016 theyve featured in 6 grand finals. Yeah 2 wins were stripped for chesting. But lets also remember that theyre cheating came from re-signing players they debuted. Not like they were poaching stars. Then they lost a few rep players and within 2 years were premiers again.

They have a very good system going down there to prolong success.

Virtually unlimited funds make that very easy

Do you mean this Melbourne team of 2017 being the most dominant in a single year? If they win the grand final they will have been the most dominant team of the NRL era (1998 to present) for sure. The only other teams with similar records were the cheating Storm teams.

As far as multi-season dominance, you have to take premierships in to account for that, and by my count no hardware has been handed out this year. If the Sharkies go back to back they will have been the first team to do so in the NRL.

For dominance in my lifetime across all comps it is undoubtedly the Broncos from 1992-2000. Five premierships in eight years. That is better than what Melbourne have done in the last 11 years (2 premiserships, 2 stripped premierships and 6 GFs - so far).

As far as the Smith/Joey question, I'll leave those comparisons alone.
Agree broncos in the 90's were insane

My apologies, I should have clarified that I was referring to the dominance of a single season.

Not that it counts in history books, but this has been the weakest season in a long time. Other than Melbourne, everyone else has been lacklustre.

I wouldnt say so. We've had 1 dominant team but the good thing is its been a season where no result was certain. I think the quality of footy at time has been lacking, and to be honest i feel like that is #refsfault. Origin 1 was one of the most entertaining games of footy we've seen in years, why? Cos the ref out his whistle away. Now games are won and lost in the penalty count. Teams using 'strategic' penalties when on their line. Not just the refs fault, teams are causing it too.
