With 6 weeks to go and squads pretty much finalised for the 2016 season, I think it's time for us all to fail miserably at attempting to pick the ladder 1 through 16.

Here's mine.

1. Brisbane
2. Nth Qld
3. Melbourne
4. Cronulla
5. New Zealand
6. Roosters
7. Manly
8. Souths

9. Canterbury
10. Penrith
11. Parramatta
12. St George
13. Canberra
14. Newcastle
15. Wests Tigers
16. Gold Coast

Brisbane vs Melbourne in the GF

I found it pretty hard to leave teams like the Dogs, Panthers & Eels out of the top 8, but someone has to miss out. Thoughts on my list? What's your ladder?

**** the rest

I know STG recruited fairly well, but I'm not sure if Benji/Gareth is a good enough halves pairing to get them to the top 8. Especially after losing Merrin.

Nth Qld - They know what’s required now
Brisbane - Not sure they have the depth they once did, some injuries could see them slip down
Sharks - Betting with heart not head
New Zealand - I hope they go well, I have my doubts over the coaches ability to get them firing
Parra - If Jenko plays consistently could be the missing piece of the puzzle
Dogs - Always a threat with Des as coach, but reckon they may struggle with direction without Hodko (that's all he was good at it)
Roosters - Lost a lot of fire power. Will have a lot of trouble if Pearce goes down again as Maloney carried them into the finals in 2015.
Souths - I think with Madge as coach they will still be a professional outfit, but aren't the force they were two years ago.
Manly - Assembled a good team but have my doubts over Barrett.
Melbourne - Cam Smith has had the best luck with injury of any player I can remember. I wouldn't ever wish injury on a player, but... If Cam Smith goes down, I reckon Melbourne will lose a lot more then they win.
Canberra - F*** I hate Ricky
Penrith - Halves are getting on a bit. Hoping Peach has a rubbish season and justifies us getting rid of him to sign ...
St George - Hopefully have another uninspiring year and The Frizz asks for a release
Wests - Still don't think the halves are ready to make a difference, and the media will be all over the Farrah and Taylor relationship all year causing a distraction
Newcastle - Just don't have the roster to compete
GC - Poor F***ers.

I think we're due to win another minor premiership and get knocked out round 2 of the finals.

There's a lot of talk about how it'll take a while for our halves to gel and that the team will need to get used to their methods etc.

The way I see it is that last year we didn't have any halves - so this year the improvement will be obvious from game 1.

1. Brisbane (They already had the best roster in the league......then they added Roberts)
2. Nth QLD (Will challenge again, will they still be hungry?)
3. Melbourne (rep players are fresh, look for a great start from then)
4. Cronulla (I think we will just sneak into the 4, probably won't win the comp though, I think we'll go one better then last year and make a prelim final appearance)
5. Warriors (they've recruited better then anyone else, this has to be the year it clicks, if it doesn't, it never will)
6. Roosters (Still too good to slide too far)
7. Manly (Decent bounce back from them this year, if DCE gets injured they become wooden spoon contenders)
8. Parramatta (Could definitely finish higher, but even with their insanely good recruitment, the other teams are looking slightly better)

9. Penrith (Only finished where they did last year because of their injuries, if they figure out what they're doing in the halves they could comfortably make the 8)
10. Souths (Will miss the finals by a hair....even with Burgess)
11. St George (Improved roster but will still miss out)
12. Canberra (see St George)
13. Bulldogs (Have lost some talent and haven't replaced them, the Des factor means they'll still be thereabouts though)
14. Newcastle (Hodgkinson will make a difference but still too many holes in the lineup, rebuilding year but will improve as a footy club under Brown)
15. Wests Tigers (this club is a mess, have got the players to finish higher but too many distractions)
16. Gold Coast (Won't be as bad as people think, will definitely be better then us during our wooden spoon year, no expectation makes them dangerous, blood guys like Taylor and it will benefit in the long run, the very definition of a rebuilding year)

I think we'll see an all Queensland GF again, those two teams are just too far ahead of everybody else.

Not in order but I think the Top 4 will consist of - Cowboys, Broncos, Storm with Sharks or Manly to fight out the last spot.

The rest of the 8 will consist of Panthers, Warriors, Roosters and the Dragons getting close or sneaking in.

I think the Roosters are going to slide big time, you don't lose Maloney, RTS and Jennings and not expect to drop a bit.

Souths with Burgess will be better but have a terrible backline and Luke is a huge loss. Will miss the 8.

I think we finish 6 or 7. We have a great side on paper but i worry bout injuries. 2015 our only major injury was gallen plus the pre season injury to nu etc. so with a really good injury run we still came up shy of the top 4.

Hopefully with a better headspace fifita, a halves pairing that is nrl standard plus bird and holmes with a seasons experience we are in a better position already.

However manly and warriors have got the best recruitment for the 2016 season. Theres going to be a lot better competition for the 8 this year with manly warriors parra and penrith all having done heavy recruitment.

We arent a shoe in

Broncos
Roosters
Cowboys
Sea Eagles
Storm
Warriors
Sharks
Eels (if they dont start on minus points)
