I think I have settled on my team, providing there are no more signings

1) Gordon
2) Feki
3) Leutele
4) Beale
5) Gagan
6) Barba
7) Robbo
8) Fifita
9) Ennis
10 Gallen
11) Graham - left edge
12) Bukuya - Right edge
13) Heino

14) Tupou
15) Lewis
16) Prior
17) Arona

I decided against a utility to start the season as I want forwards on the bench. My team would stay the same but Prior would drop out for Nu Brown if I wanted a utility

Gal to prop is the move that has to happen, if he wants his number 13, name Bukuya at prop but run out with gal playing prop, Bukuya on the edge

hard to leave holmes out but Ricky is the one on edge for me, he doesn't produce the goods early then feki goes to centre and holmes on the wing

Don't mind that.:good:

Agreed slide.

I'm pretty happy with whatever they run with knowing there is quality across the park and whoever misses out will be good back up no matter what.

Pretty good looking side for mine, Snowy. I agree that Gal had to play prop. We've got some great potential in the rest of the forwards, but size wise we're starting to look like the 2012 Tigers.

We're going to be mobile and skillful, with plenty of offloads but, unless we start scoring length of the field tries, we might struggle to get enough field position to score points.

Big no to heino at lock. He looked good last year because there wasn't anyone left around him.Best off the bench for mine.

Actually, i think you're right. I really liked the way Arona was coming along while Gal was out, so I'd like to see him get a crack in the starting squad.

aronas first half of the year was better but fell away a tad at the end, I think overall heighno had the better year, wouldn't say head and shoulders though

pending Lewis getting some form back this year - i would have him at lock and hino on the bench...

This.

I actually thought Arona was our best player in the first half of the year, I think Sharpie agreed by starting him over Heighno at Lock during that time... fell away at the back end of the season though. That said, Heighno was consistently very solid as well throughout the whole season, one of, if not the best overall.

Re: Lewis, he's the tough one to work out. Will be interested to see whether he starts on the right edge or at Lock. If he's playing right edge and only playing half a game, for $450k a season... yuck.

Not with Bukuya back in the team. I think Lewis prefers the middle of the park anyway. it gives him a chance to bob up on either side of the field

Yup, play Lewis at lock or not all - he doesn't look comfortable on the edges and struggles to get involved other than battering up the ball and the odd pass and he is next to useless as a bench option

We have many candidates ahead of Lewis for a genuine second row position - Heighno, Wade, Bakuya and that's ignoring our new recruits. Playing Lewis ahead of any of them would just be a formality to try justify his expensive recruitment

Lewis is the best qualified to play a ball playing forward role as the No.13
Get Gal & Heighno da **** outta there and if a player is given a number have them playing that ****ing position instead of roaming around doing whatever the **** they want.
No wonder our structure is a mess when no one is a specialist and everyone plays like a ****ing front rower!

i would start with fiifta ennis and another prop in the middle with Lewis at lock. Throw Gal on one edge to start and Graham on the other with bakuya on the bench.. rotate the first prop to the bench and bring bakuya into gals edge back row spot and Gal pushes into the middle as the first front rower rotation.. means would have Gal fifta and lewis in the middle with graham and bakuya on the edges.. can then bring Hino and david fifta off the bench as the next rotations into the middle for andrew fifta, Lewis or gal depending who is more tanked. means a bench of andrew fifita, hino bakuya and toops..

it means Gal gets to start slowly on the edge and get out of the way of the halves.. Lewis at lock which is the best position for him and will give bakuya some decent game time on the edge where he is best - just not as a starter... and gives us a decent sized bench ....

I'd much rather have heighno punching through the middle than on an edge.

Lewis strikes me as a better edge player. Formerly an outside back, can hit a hole and can offload. I'd rather Wade playing lock and developing a game there. former 5/8, can do the heavy work as well as some ball play.

This.

As much as I would hate to see him named over Gagan, Mitch Brown isn't a bad winger.

I think for the first time in quite a while we had decent competition for every position. Exciting times for a change.

No way in the world should we play Heighno on an edge when we have Graham, Lewis, Troops and Bukuya. Laughable.

Balancing the five of them will be hard. Its why Bukuya left.in the first place. My guess is that he will split the minutes on the right edge with Lewis and Graham and Troops will do the same on the left.

Lewis.can flat out play anywhere. He was busted this year but still produced some moments of class if you watched closely (read: hadn't written him off already).

I like him best as a roving 13 but I don't like him.having to tackle there all game. By roving I mostly mean playing first receiver and occasionally taking the ball cross field.and picking up runners. See his try against the Bulldog a at Gosford in 2013 as an example. Problem is that Heighno and Gal are already in that role, even if Gal plays prop.

He'll bounce back this year though, I'm certain of it.
