Personally although I don't Slater started it I do think he is in the wrong.

I am not against sorting things out a little old school and if someone pushes me in the face I will square up to them, but I was always taught to give the other man a chance to apologise first. If he chooses not to then let him know you will be sorting him out (or least trying to).

Don't lash out when the guy isn't looking makes you a coward, Billy should have walked up to him looked him in the eye like a man not throw a fully extended jab randomly.

Like Gallen on miles in origin?

I absolutely hate Slater. Despise the bloke. But he reacted the same as I would have. As soon as someone puts a hand on you, game on

Not sure where the Gallen/Miles reference came from. They're apples and oranges. Slater is entitled to be out when he feels fit, whether or not it is the most responsible thing to do is another question, but he had the right to be out having a drink in a foreign country.

Slater did throw a punch that had a lot more intent to hurt behind it but you could say it was in self defence. I think the guy obviously didn't know he was squaring up with a drunk, cocky & arrogant professional football player.

My only problem with the incident is the way Slater is being portrayed in the media. I have no doubt this thing would of been well managed, from the Instagram quotes from the wife to the sympathetic approach from Slater - Piss off he is shaken up from this, the time in which it took him to retaliate shows he had been ready for something the whole night.

I think the media jumped on him before knowing the facts and the tele are still jumping on him.

He didn't look too agressive till he threw the punch imo, no slap no punch doubt he was really looking for fight.

Each to his own on whether you fight back and how.

To paraphrase a well chosen line from a great Australian Band of yesteryear which to this day, more than ever applies on the streets- "Fight Violence with Violence, turn the other cheek, and it will be beaten in"!

I hope after Australia wins the World Cup they have a special exhibition match.

Australia Vs. Manchester.

It would be interesting to see how many times we get stabbed and headbutted before half time.

A fit professional rugby league player who plays in the toughest comp in the world ready for a fight and willing to swing a punch? Wow who would have thought

I don't like Slater but what about the Moron who provoked him? You feel sorry for him?
