I think you might meet some resistance there.
I wish they'd bring back the guy with a keg strapped to his back. That was awesome when they had that in the PB Stand.
This is something the club needs to look at.Yeah I know mate. I was just being tongue in cheek! I still want to know where those ticketholders are in that section of the Peter Burns Stand that never come every game. Rows and rows of seats left empty on the far left side of the stand every single game. Still frustrates me and annoys me.
Yes just a bit. Keep forgetting to put the symbol at the end of some of my sentences.
The guy with a keg strapped to his back? Really? Haven't seen that before.
That's the greatest thing ever!Yeah mate happened when we were sponsored by Powers I think it was. A guy walked around the PB Stand (probably other areas in the ground as well) selling beer. Poured it straight into your cup, didn't have to move. Don't think it would be allowed these days.

Someone doing it with chips/ice creams/drinks/ hotdogs/ meat pies would be handy though.Yeah mate happened when we were sponsored by Powers I think it was. Geez, I'm going back now. But I remember back in the 80s you used to arrive just after 12pm on a Sunday for the 12.15pm Under 23s game, grab two of those sargents pies, some chips and a beer (yes, I used to have one or two in those days) and finish it off with a cornetto.
You'd have your Big League magazine, folded at the pages of the first grade game and have a pen handy to record the scrums and penalties. Immediately after the Under 23s game, the Reserve Grade would start, you'd watch those guys go hammer and tongs and then get ready for first grade. If you were a bit famished you may have had another pie by this stage. Certainly had consumed a few more beers.
First grade would start right on 3pm and at half time you'd have the heats, semi finals or the finals of the Click 1000 sprint. Hopefully by 4.45pm you'd be cheering a Sharkies win and then off to the car to drive home. If too many beers had been consumed then a mate would drive home. You'd take turns.
Ah, those were the days.
Those certainly were the days, I remember them fondly. I also used to mark off penalties and scrums in the big league magazine.

Used to cross off those who were out as well and write in the replacement player. Always a thrill if it was someone from the lower grades either making their debut or playing their 2nd or 3rd game.
Always remember there were groans through the crowd when the announcer would say a good player was out. He was a funny bloke the ground announcer they used to have. Straight laced, no emotion, no yelling, no jaws music. The groans were especially large when he might say, "Number 3 Steve Rogers is out..."
Gee, I'm getting all nostalgic.
Remember also how a player would play reserve grade and often back up for first grade if there was a late withdrawal?
Remember the day Barry Russell scored 5 tries in reserve grade?
The kids lining up along the fence with 5 minutes to go to rumble for the corner post?

I actually hadn't seen that. What a weird little fella lol.
3 pies in a day? hahaha bloody hell mate.
