Beau Champion has signed back with Souths. Wonder how much he cost them, his value would have gone down over the last 12 months. I wouldn't have minded him at Cronulla.

Has anyone seen the movie Moneyball? With Brad Pitt & Jonah Hill? I wonder if Phil Gould watched it and now he's doing the same thing at Penrith.

Has anyone seen the movie Moneyball? With Brad Pitt & Jonah Hill? I wonder if Phil Gould watched it and now he's doing the same thing at Penrith.

There was a whole thread on Flanno using moneyball tactics over the past couple of seasons on the CSSC forum. I think Garbs was the one responsible for that one

Yeah I would have happily signed him up. Would be fairly cheap now I wouldve thought.

With the loss of Lewis, Gordon & Jennings (maybe?). And the recruitment of alot of underrated/unwanted players, the similarities are uncanny.

never got that thread, i dont see how 380k for Gordon and 450k for lewis is money ball. quite the opposite really

can make sense. Have 17 players that can do the right things, that 3 that do excellent things and 14 that cant wipe their arse
