On another note I believe Ricky Martin has been confirmed as grand final entertainment. Just the type of act rugby league people love.

**** me its always the same, mauboys timomatic justice crew.......

They're trying to woo female fans to the game which is why I would think they would use Ricky Martin.

At least we can be thankful they didn't get Justin Bieber for the Grand Final Entertainment.

I agree mate

But they're not trying to reach out to the welded on fans like us.

They are trying to reach out to people who normally wouldn't follow footy or go to matches.

The only thing I can think of is that the NRL is trying to do a very bad attempt at emulating the Super Bowl in the US.

In saying that you can tell Channel Nine has their paws all over it.

It doesn't seem like a coincidence to me that they're using people from The Voice as the pre-match entertainment.
Yep, grand final day will be just one big promotion for shows like the voice, no doubt people from the block will make an appearance too

People dont go to the NRL grandfinal to see Jessica Mauboys lip sync for 3 minutes. The entertainment should be an extra, and if they are looking at stage entertainment they may wanna look further than the homosexual son of a 1980s cop show. For a start, I hate most aussie music, but why import someone for that small piece of time between a game. Dont see the NFL hiring Jonny Ruffo to do the half time show at superbowl.

NRL isnt theatrical, it never has been, even when Tina Turner showed up it wasnt that special, and she was no stranger to a swinging arm

Exactly, this is where 9 are the worst people to be broadcasting the footy, forgetting all their bull**** about more live games, replays during the week plus the 2 footy shows etc, there was supposed to be NRL at least once a day on 9-Gem wasnt there. Instead its the 1 live game, 2 delayed games, 2 footy shows (roast is even now squished into the footy show) and among that you get Ray Warren advertising underbelly, the voice and all that sorta **** (not a problem, but not on grandfinal day).

Fox sports has superior NRL coverage in every possible way, minus the footy show, which is more of a hey hey its saturday now anyway.

FOX article - Thank GORDY for the fire- up,,, Now is going to be the time to REALLY Stand Up

IT wasn't long ago that the Sharks were a broken shell of a club, shattered by the spectre of the ASADA investigation.

But after flexing their muscles in a stunning performance against a well-organised Penrith side on Sunday afternoon, Cronulla are back in the hunt for a top four berth and are re-entering the frame as a genuine title threat.

If they can conjure a fairytale run through the finals series it will rate as one of rugby league's great stories, given the adversity they've faced all year.

And, according to Ben Ikin, it may have been some tough love given to Luke Lewis in the Fox Sports green room earlier in the season that sparked a change in Cronulla's fortunes.
Click on the video at the top of the page to watch as Ben Ikin describes his favourite moment of 2013!

"I remember this one moment when Gorden Tallis, in the green room at Fox Sports in fact, was talking with Luke Lewis who was in there to do a piece for Fox Sports News," Ikin recalled for foxsports.com.au's Every Moment Matters series.

"And Gordie basically walked up to Luke Lewis and challenged Luke and the Cronulla football club to stop feeling sorry for themselves.

"He was pretty direct, Gordy, as he can be. And funnily enough in a game against Newcastle Knights at Hunter Stadium, where the Knights have a terrific record, Paul Gallen went down injured early and it was actually Luke Lewis who stood up and had the best game he's had in ages.

"The Sharks went on to win. From that moment, and that victory, and I don't want to give too much credit to Gordy, but it seemed to me that the Sharks decided that they weren't going to feel sorry for themselves anymore, they were just going to go out and play football.

"They're a team that's going to be hard to beat right through until the end of the regular season. And I think there'll be a few sides looking over their shoulder if they get themselves into a top eight spot."

If i were Luke Lewis, id have told Tallis to eat a dick. Dead set of all the ex players come poor excuse for media personality, he is by far the worst. Has nothing good to say about anyone but Souths Broncos and Qld
