That statement has been proven wrong already. He will play where we want him to
He got what he wanted and that's money

Okay, then explain this to me then.

Gordon was fit to play for the Panthers yet didn't for about 3 weeks... then the fullback spot became available and he returned.

I'd start the year with this:

1. Gards
2. Flash
3. Pom
4. Ricky
5. Ryan
6. Carney
7. Chad
8. Gibbs
9. De Gois
10. Ross
11. Wade
12. Gal
13. Lewis

14. Fafita
15. Taufua
16. Toops / Bukuya / Heighington
17. Robson

After round 2 when Gards does his ACL / Ankle / whatever - we switch flash to fb & Jono comes in.

I like sticking with Gibbs & Ross in the front row as well, they were strong all season when they were together.

Out of interest, who here believes that Gardner is the better fullback between himself and Gordon?

I think if you answer that question, you'll work out where Gordon will play.

Gordon is the better fullback BUT we have a better overall back 5 with Gards at fullback & flash in there somewhere, preferably at either 3 or 4, just my opinion.

its going to be the toughest call flanno will have to make... im happy for the decision to be based on trial form. id like to see gardz in the team and he can really only play one position..

same for chad and robbo would like to see th 7 selected on trial form.

Yeah we know Flash is the better rated FB, but Gards can't play anywhere else.

So if we want our best attacking players on the field - Gards has to be fb.

I agree it is a bit out of the square, but all I'm saying is start the season that way & judge from results / injuries.

Not having a go at you B&B but how many props do you personally want in our 17 week to week, do you want Gal to play wide or play tight, just asking?

Considering the top 25 looks pretty set for next year, my team would be:

1- gardner
2- ryan
3- leutele
4- gordon
5- mills
6- carney
7- townsend
8- gibbs
9- de gois
10- gallen
11- lewis
12- graham
13- heighnington

14- lichaa
15- fifita
16- ross
17- bukuya

I know flanno wont play any of leutele, gardner, mills, townsend or lichaa in round 1 though.

The reason for mills over wright is pretty simple, wright isn't that far ahead of mills imo and mills still has alot of improvement whereas wright wont improve on this season.

Lichaa is a dangerous attacking hooker, which you want coming off the bench. He's physically bigger than some of our backrowers aswell so wont be beat up against the big boys. De gois has become more solid than the attacking hooker he was in his last stint here.

Townsend is an obvious one, has all of the composure that robbo does, just as good an organiser and has a better long kicking game which we rely way too heavily on toddy for. Slightly weaker defender but he's not a liability at all, lewis plays left aswell so he would be defending with chad.

Leutele should be in firsts. showed that he is solid defensively which was the only worry and is alot more capable of creating a scoring chance and setting up his winger.

Gardner has defensive issues but barba showed they can be overcome with hard work. He's still only 22 so has a lot of improvement in his game. Who would you rather have in the team? Pom or gardner... jonno wright or gardner...

I'm still not sold on Mills, I understand the romance side of it with him being the local junior etc but I personally want him to kill it in NSW Cup & demand to be picked in 1st Grade on merit, not hype, he may well end up being the greatest thing since slice bread & I will end up looking the fool but I would be ok with that if it meant he ended up being great for us, but at this stage I doubt it.

You can have a go at me anytime you want mate - no probs.

I just want one more quality prop.

When I looked at the team I posted tonight, I thought the bench lacked that.

that's why I'd rather have gal play prop and bring Ross and the crab of the bench. Get gal doing what gal does best. Run hard an straight up the guts no ball playing

I think Mills can make it, but he's still in his apprenticeship.

Ricky, imo, has proven himself enough to be a regular starter.

However - having established that, we need to nurture & develop Mills, because he is a local junior (with potential).

Yeh thats whats I was sort of asking/suggesting to B&B, I think we can run with 4 in our 17 week to week, those being Gal, Gibbs, Ross & Fifita, we have enough backrowers in our 25 for Gal to be selected or play a 8 or 10 role but if B&B wanted Gal as a backrower you could understand him saying we are one 8 or 10 short.

Yeah that's where I was coming from. I want one more prop so we don't have to depend on Gal playing front row.
