i dont know if this question has been asked yet or if there has been an outcome. But can the Melbourne players still be eligible for Dally M awards this year?

All depends on how much they pay for it.

Doesn't it effect a player if they are sent off or found guilty of an on field offence.

Then they don't qualify for the award ?

Yeah very interesting question, never thought about it. I would assume they can.

Pretty sure they can still win it, and rightly so.

As for what happens with suspensions in regards to the Dally M, it used to be that if you copped a suspension you were out of the running, but then one year Andrew Johns got suspended after being heads and shoulders above the rest so they changed it to each suspensions deducts 3 Dally M points.

Slater is the obvious one at the moment, but I reckon Cronk could be the smokey.

each suspensions deducts 3 Dally M points.

oh really, is that per game you miss? or per charge?
I always thought it was you can't win it if you have missed more than one (or two) game(s) through suspension that season

I can't recall at the moment whether its 3 points per charge, or 3 points per week on the sidelines.

I'm pretty sure the suspensions aren't capped, but I could be wrong. I'm pretty scattered at the moment - I'm gonna need a long weekend to get over this long weekend.

unfortunately just like every year i dont expect a shark to win anything. Not even paul gallen although he is the stand out in the competition we never seem to win anything.

Gals has a serious shot at this I think guys. He was only 4 point behind the leader Darius Boyd when voting went private. Gallen was 3 point above Carney aswell. Will be a two man race between Carney and Gallen for mine. Gallen would of picked up at least 1 just about every week.

Dally M - Todd Carney (if he can finish on a high) if we had won more games gal would have won it surely!

Fullback - Slater

Five Eighth - Todd Carney
Halfback - Maloney
Prop Foward - Shillington/Weyman
Hooker - Robbie Farah
Second Row - Sam Thaiday
Lock - Paul Gallen

Rookie - Matt Gillett will get it... but if Gards continues to hammer it home he might swoop him!

Buy of the year - Sam Burgess.. wow.

Would love to see Gal win the Dally M (and oath he'd deserve it!) but I predict he'd probably more likely settle for Lock of the Year.
