McCormack's Olympic goal

BY BRAD FORREST

CRONULLA Sharks international water polo goalie Alicia McCormack, has the task of unseating her vice-captain, Emma Knox, in the road to the medal round next week.

She made a good start by making plenty of great saves as she helped Australia to beat Greece 8-6 while Knox played in the drawn game against Hungary.

Cronulla's Jenna Santomorito, whose sister Mia is also playing, potted a goal for the green-and-golds alongside McCormack.

The shire's Kate Hollywood got on the field yesterday to help the Hockeyroos win their second game, 6-1, over Spain.

With a heavily-bandaged thigh, the NSWIS star was strong in her first hit-out after sitting out the Hockeyroos' opening win against Korea.

The Hockeyroos again played catch-up hockey to recover from a 1-0 deficit, before going on for a five-goal victory where Megan Rivers and Casey Eastham provided great support in attack.
