Just watching 360, only because they are talking about the Sharks. Narrative again is we can’t beat the top teams, that Brent Read is a smug piece of ****. Riccio doing his best to pump us up. James Graham also seems to like Fitz’s approach and gives us a chance.

Past results gave us that tag and rightly so.

It’s on Fitz and the team to change it

So, what do you think is a pass mark over the next five games mate? Do we need to win them all? Or 3 or 4? Or will it be more about the way we play?

I know you think the way Nicho plays isn’t good for the team but with a rookie 6 for a few more games I don’t think he has any choice but to take charge. I’d love to have Tricky back but we just have to bide our time.

Do you think we can win Saturday night?

Even if we win all of the next 5 games, charnts like Read will continue to say we won’t beat them in important games, so it doesn’t matter what they think.

If we can win 2 or 3 of the Storm, Panthers, Roosters and Broncos and be competitive in all 4 of them, then we will have belief that we can win in the important games come September and shut these c*cks up

I’ll give you the long version.

When we lost to the Tigers I was off us because it reminded me of last year but I 100% recognise that it “seems” like we are a much more balanced team this year with players like brailey, Wilton, trindall, Kaufusi etc coming into their own - the tigers game showed we still have that flakiness…

Between us fans if we can win 3 of the next 5 games you could think we are starting to the corner for real

BUT I’m not sold on Atkinson at half so far. (kicking game ?, hasn’t created much for his side of the field & Hynes and him haven’t been linking much) because of that if we can even win 2 of the next 5 I would 💯% take that and run then wait for tricky to come back before I take us serious
Ok mate, fair enough. And I can understand you’re not sold on Atkinson but there’s no one else we can really put there until Tricky gets back. I think DA is doing the absolute best he can under the circumstance. Let’s try and support him and Nicho until Tricky returns.

Hope Daniel & Nicho show their ex club why they should have not have been let them go.

There are 4 scenarios
1. Get flogged - we will be written off and labelled pretenders.
2. Just lose - we will be bagged for not beating an understrength Storm and not taken seriously.
3. Just win - we still won't be taken seriously in talks beyond top 4 as beat an understrength Storm.
4. Win big - people will take notice and just like Panthers, we become the hunted as every team wants to beat the competition leaders.

Being the hunted is not bad as it forces you to keep up the intensity every week. The next few weeks will determine whether we are on par with 2016. 2 or 3 wins from next 3 games and we a genuine title contenders. Lose all 3 and we are pretenders, not that premierships are won in May which somewhat gives us a chance if we learn from those loses.

I have a confident feeling about this game. I predict a 13+ win.

It was about this time after our win over Broncos and just before SOO in 2016 that I rang the club and told them we would win premiership and signed up for everything as did not want to miss the big event. I'm getting that feeling again, next few games will determine whether we are true contenders.

Fitz wants to win a Minor Premiership just as his dad did for us but he also wants to go a stop further and win a comp for us which his dad was unable. The quicker it happens, the better for both him and the club otherwise you enter Brian Smith / Brad Arthur territory, a coach that will consistently get you thereabout without winning a comp.

I will admit that this is the first time in a looooong time where I feel we’re catching them at a vulnerable time, they are there for the picking if we play a near perfect game. But still, this is Melbourne in Melbourne, no matter who they have out, you know whoever they bring in will play well above their means.

They've won their last 14 straight at AAMI Park. Won't be easy no matter what.

Let's remember they only beat the Dogs by 2 and Warriors by 4 at home, got a bit lucky as well.

Again, I'm not saying it will be easy, it won't, but they're not the same team as in past years.

From what I've seen they're very vulnerable in the middle, I'm predicting Blayke to have a blinder off the back of our pack and bench. Can we convert our chances, that's the doubt in the back of my mind.

Titans by 2 also.

So you're saying they are on the slide?

And we are much better than both of those teams

Agree, but we're much better than the Tigers too. I just hope we keep an eye on Harry Grant and Munster as they always seem to have a field day against us, and we haven't won there since 2018.
