He earned it. The lesser lights of that team still mattered. Flanno actually said after that he considered going with a different bench but Beale and Taga were main members of the team all year and he felt they'd earned the jersey.

Yeah Taga was definitely underdone still but deserved to be in the team and a ring based on the full year.
Beale was Mr Fixit the entire time he spent with us so would never begrudge him his place in the 17.
Any change could see a different, less enjoyable, outcome. Can’t complain about any of them.

Beale earned Flanno's trust during regular season 2016 and then did his best to hand Melbourne the trophy. Merge threw us some Trojan Horses mixed in under the camouflage of good players

Love him. He silently does his job and seems to have fixed occasional mistakes too.
I like in interviews how he refers to Fitz as 'Coach'. "Coach wants us to do this....Coach expects we do that....". Not Craig, Fitz, Fitzy etc.
Old school respect for authorities.

I was happy for Taga, but thought Capewell was also real stiff, considering how crucially he played in one of those Semis for us, against Raiders was it?

Yeah ended up playing big minutes after Wade got knocked out.
I've always felt that the full squad should get Rings, or at very least anyone who features in a game during the season.
