Wighton racked up a fair amount metres out of shear grit and determination but had the 2nd worst tackle % on the park so our edge gave him some trouble and he wasn't the biggest threat attacking wise in that game to us.

If he were still a Raider he would have put 3 trys on us though :p

Don’t forget, he had some time at Fullback as well, which can inflate your run metres

he has been good. Love Jesse (except when there is a brain fade) however, at the end of the day he loves this club and is passionate when he plays for us. thats for sure.

that penalty as a disruptor - now that I watched with sound, just wow!:rolleyes:o_O:shark:
oh well, move on
As soon as the Video Ref start sayings things like "In my opinion..." it's a joke.

Bunker is substandard and needs a major overhaul
“in my opinion”
Bunker isn't done any favours by poor rules though... that a ref or the bunker is forced to rule on intent to strip, or intent to disrupt goes to show there is a bigger problem.

It’s the bunker’s interpretation of the rule and the “lack of feel” for the game itself.

Its interpretation and being consistent (or more-so inconsistent) that pisses people off. Not necessarily the rules themselves.
They lack the knowledge of the “intent” of the rule and make questionable decisions.

Let’s take the disruptor rule.
The rule was put in place to stop someone deliberately putting off a player trying to catch a ball but isn’t actually trying to take the ball ( ie not truely competing).
Jesse wasn’t just trying to put off the fullback, he wanted that ball (aka Ronnie on the other side).
The bunker in their wisdom thought he could read his mind and his “interpretation” is that he wasn’t fairdinkum in going for the ball. Thats an interpretation issue, not the rule issue.

The other issue is that, One day they rule this way, the next, the opposite way.
Thats on the person in the bunker. And again, not on the rules.

The refs need to get a better understanding from a “game” perspective, otherwise they will continue to make these questionable calls.

Not denying the bunker has a lack of feel for the game, but Uncle Graham is happy to back them in most of the time.

As for interpretation of the rules, IMO the disrupter rule is garbage, no matter how its interpreted.

I understand everyone's frustration with the ref, rules and bunker but for every decision made that people get the dirts with there is an equal number of people who think the decision was right.

I 100% agree with you in how they currently interpret the rule.
But if someone just runs straight through the player trying to catch the ball and just waving their hands above their head then that should be penalised (maybe it’s not a disruptor penalty but something else I guess).

If 16 out of 17 clubs fans thinks it’s a **** call, it’s a **** call.
And the 1 set of fans that agreed with it being the club benefitting from the **** call.
