Never know what could happen now. Players could be really fired up and want to send JD out a winner.
Hopefully it’s more the case of “ah well nothing to play for now”

Wonder if they're thinking he can help bring Latrell back into form? It's probably fair to say that Souths will play as well as a team as Latrell plays individually

Seems a bit silly and unrealistic to base your FG coaches employment on the back of winning a single game. How much time would a win actually buy him? Another couple weeks? And then what he gotta win another game to stay in the seat or win 75% of his remaining games and make finals?
How can you plan and operate a footy side and club around a week to week proposition of not knowing if the head coach will be there in 7 days and how could a coach effectively operate under that sort of pressure and scrutiny.
Seems more plausible club have already made the decision and JD is gone regardless. Souths just extended him too, what a waste of money even if the payout is limited to 9 months.
Mal would prob quit in his first press conference though.

Maybe not for another year or two. He's in his first year at Warrington (yeah, I know... contracts...).
My guess is Wayne is back next year. Signs 2 year deal. Burgess assistant who then takes over after 2 seasons.

I like Iro, but Talakai was going good start of season at centre, so would put him back there and have same bench as last week

The talk around Bennetts 900th game and played at Suncorp was the definitely worst time to play Dolphins last year
