Also the more I think about this Bird at fullback and Barba on the bench bit the more it makes sense..

// Bird is shoddy under the highball but it wouldn't take much to get him defending in the centres and push Holmes back to FB and Beale to Holmes wing, Beale is an ex fullback, between Beale, Holmes and Feki you'd have a great chance of defusing any high kicks.

//with Barba on the bench you have nearly every position covered in the event of an injury except perhaps dummy half, injury in the backs, halves or forwards Bird slots in Barba to FB.

//with Barba on the bench Bird essentially becomes a reserve second rower in waiting, but you could put him anywhere bar front row or dummy half he is that versatile, this will shake the game up and will allow the side to play two different game plans, maybe one for each half I don't know.

If used properly this could be great, if Barba comes on straight switch for another back then it is completely stupid.

Plain and simple barba is our best fullback. Bird-untested, val-work in progress.

Barba should have first dibs on that jersey imo.

Yeah I agree, but Barba on the bench could work if done properly is all in saying.
