Piss off. 1 scrappy play-the-ball and **** was all over his back. It should of been a penalty but the refs with their game specific training and tip sheets have it built in this bloke is at fault if something goes wrong in the play-the-ball. But thats another rant for another day.

Basically in an error riddled performance 1 error (questionable or not) from Andrew is pretty good for him.

I was impressed with his play the ball discipline and general ball handling - big improvement
Made some strong carries and got stuck in on defense

Maybe Flanno was hoping the cowboys forwards would fatigue which would allow Fifita to come on later and carve up, didn't go that way aye

Instead we started with backrowers at prop and were on the backfoot with all the momentum against us from the get go meaning any injection of bench players was gunna stuggle to make the desired impact as we got further and further behind forcing silly plays

Flanno butchered the squad selection and bench rotation - Fifita did the best with what he was given

He was obviously being saved for impact, hoping the rest would hold their own for the 20min softening up period before unleashing the beast. The softening up period never ended and we never held our own. Matt Scott is not reknown for gassing out and going easy.

Agreed buzz is a germ, but at the end of the day he is a journo. If you dont give him ammo he cant spray us with it.
Surely Fifita realises every mistake he makes will be highlighted, especially anything to do with referee abuse.

As much as fifita should know better it was a koori knock out. These things are heated all game. Lots of fights, sin bins, swearing etc.

No doubt, but being arguably the highest progile player there, unbeknownst to the club who pays his wage and fresh off a huge offield suspension at a crucial point in our season you would think you could keep your **** together during a exhibition tournament.

listen we dont know what happened so its not even worth discussing. And as the article says, they were satisfied a sin binning was sufficient and nothing else. If anything, the NRL could learn from that and start doing it more.

As i said, im more worried he went their without the clubs consent. Hes a near 700k a year player. What if he did a serious injury. Its good to see them go and do it, its clear that the Fifitas have a genuine interest in lower grade competitions and are very active in it, but its time they put their employer first

Imagine if we stepped in and tried to stop them from playing in the Koori knockout... Wouldnt be long before someone wrote a story that labelled us as racists.. They do seem to dance to their own beat the fif brothers.

I think we would have a valid argument, but then again gallen boxes every off season so really imo its not biggy, but fifita should clear it with the club. I dont think he finished next season with cronulla

Yeah I'm not convinced he plays out his contract... At least we are a stronger better run club that won't put up with their crap.. Line in the sand time fast approaching

I don't care about the binning but am concerned that he felt he didn't need permission to play, that just reeks of challenging authority.

I think his ongoing refereeing issues are likely a part of his "challenging authority".

The team is in much better shape than when we signed Fifita. When we signed him we needed him as he was our attack. With the emergence of a top notch backline with Malloney in the halves we are no longer dependent on this guy. Considering the money he is on, if he doesn't see out his contract it may not be a bad thing.

The Tigers wanted rid of him because of his attitude and unfortunately it is becoming ever apparent that they were right on that one.

IF we spend that money the right way.

Thats the key, a big name player leaving a club is only bad if he isnt replaced well.

Could buy a couple of solid props for his money, you could buy 1 and a centre. **** you could buy a young prop and a rep half back for the money he is on.

If we went down this avenue, which i think is becoming more and more likely, we need to use that to our advantage and not feel hard done by.

The referee thing in the koori knock out, im not even bothered by it. They were sin-binning players willy nilly in that tournament. Im worried about the way he doesnt think he needs to put the people who put food on his table first.

Gets himself in strife at a district RL game, gets himself in strife at a koori knockout. What about the hand that feeds you andrew? Seems to put the hardyards in for all these other causes.

On that note though, its not really a bad thing, a guy going out and having a run with his local in that tournament. The more footy he is playing the better i guess. But still, ask

Dumb and Dumber...

We've gambled a few times to try and get an x-factor player. Carney, Fifita, Barba... There's still time for the last two, but they're not heading in the right direction, that's for sure. Fingers crossed...

We're in a much better position as a club these days. I'm really looking forward to when young talent sees our club as desirable, and try hard to play and perform here.
