If you're making the call purely on your assessment of his form rather than his past then credit to you.

Look this comes down to opinion on the quality of his impact - I think its still pretty strong and you don't. That's subjective and its fine to disagree. That said, the stats in that link are pretty darn good and to my mind disarm the idea that he's been mailing it in at Newcastle - he clearly hasn't. A quick look also suggests that things like metres/hit up are pretty high too which is a reasonable indicator.

Its also why the whole thing is a moot point because he's Newy's best, most experienced prop and they won't let him go.

On Dougie - absolutely I'd take him back. A front rower that can play 80 minutes? With interchanges being cut over the next few years? Who hardly ever misses a game? With a huge workrate? A guy who players love playing with? Who is in his prime when we only have 4 forwards below the age of 30 for next year onward? Hell yes. Is he a top 10 prop? No. Doesn't mean he isn't valuable though in the same way Aidan Tolman is hugely important to the Dogs.

Fair. But I didn't say it had to be an early play. Often its the third tackle, both with us and up at Newcastle because both sides have more emphasis than most on the backs taking early hit ups as you say. That said, it still usually requires a bigger body to create some drive through the tackle and get some momentum in the set - something that I maintain that Snowden is good at and that Fifita and Gal thrive off.

I think starting prop is pretty clearly our weakest position (relative to other sides) in our 1-17 for next year. So if we want an upgrade there Snowden is just about the best option (hypothetically) on the market.

good post

i dont want him back because of talent or lack of it, i dont want him back because he is a dog and i would boo the **** out of him. not in a racist way either

Would take Snowden in a heart beat.

One of the few knights having a dig this season. Of course he is going to look worse than what he is in that pathetic scummy club, but I've watched him closely the last few weeks and I think he's exactly the type of prop that excels in our style and club.

I can live with the way he left the club. That was like 3-4 years ago. He makes 150m a game for us I wouldn't give a rats tbh

Snowden has been playing well this season, best form since he left us. He'd cost a decent amount for a prop, and we wouldn't be able to give him as much minutes as he gets at the Knights this season. Hence it doesn't seem an efficient guy to target.

At any rate, he re-signed until end of 2017 with Newcastle. It doesn't matter.

that means nothing. I have no doubt they will have a massive clearance sale.

Also i wonder if Tooves ends up coach there?

We should raid the Tigers. They have some decent depth forwards, Jason Taylor is a dip**** so he'll want to re-sign the wrong ones. They also have cap issues.

Seumanufagai is the one - Whenever he actually gets minutes he looks a real good player.

Any Manly names we should be jumping on with their end of year clearance?

Mateo? Burgess?
