For those suggesting the ref is a sook for carrying a mobile phone I would suggest it is most likely a directive for all referees at that level owing to the problem with crowd behaviour.

What a load of BS doing something like that makes you a target even I would not do it.

I am not sticking up for them they can cop the punishment as far as I am concearned.

LG waiting for the full report before he acts and thats fair enough.

I assume that the abuse of referees at junior games stems from overzealous parents who are upset with refereeing decisions.

This problem is different as in it seemed to stem from another official's concern for an injured player.

The two issues appear to be unrelated in my view. Rothfield knows that it sells newspapers to draw as many parallels as possible though.

It was an a grade game, nothing at all to do with juniors.

I'm on Fifita's side on this one. Funny to see a cop trying to film someone and them not liking it / trying to forcefully remove the evidence. Bit of karma there.

Ok thought so. Lot of haters or ignorants out there acting like they abused a ref at a kids game.

Until proof is released I'm dubious at the timing and personal interests of the refs. Perfect opportunity to reduce moral at a crucial time in our season.

Sounds like 2 of our players doing something stupid which our sensationalist media has obviously blown out of proportion by putting it on the front page. And that there is the big picture though - front page news and clubs name dragged through the mud.

Maybe stopping the play for an injured player is a good thing. Maybe remembering who you represent is also a good thing.Could end up like a fart in a storm , lets hope so.

They are passionate guys. I bet David was genuinely upset for the players welfare and couldn't hold back, and Andrew is passionate about his brother and found it hard to contain himself too.

It was all verbal from what I've been told. Verbal exchange between adults. ****ing man up. If you're a cop and a ref and that rattles you think about the people you probably rattle on a day-to-day basis and learn from it you pussy.

Also Phil Haines is involved. ****ing hate that guy. Remember when he walked Luke Douglas?
