Geyer, johns, Tallis et al. Short answer is YES

LOL !

For those saying broncs , cows etc would have put 50 on the rooters tonite I disagree .

roosters were woeful without a shadow of a doubt , errors , dropped balls etc , but they did defend really well .

Yes tonights win doesn't mean we run out and buy grand final tickets , yes our attack in the opposition 20 is laughable at best , but we guts out a win , against a good defensive outfit , I'm happy with that.

Also happy our half got his first try assist of the year !

So the explanation given to Gal on the field was "it has been reviewed and he ran behind his own player "

This was confirmed by Flanno in the presser.

Can I put my hand up and say I am confused ?

Woah! You're confused with the obstruction rule?

I'll say join the que but remember you'll be behind at least a dozen refs, video refs, coaches, players, commentators and millions of fans.

The obstruction rule gives me headaches.

Nearly as much as Flanno's use of the bench.

Afifita - 35 mins
Prior - 19 mins
Difita - 16 mins
Tagataese - 20 mins
Gallen - 73 mins

Surely Gal didn't have to go back on so quickly in that first half.

I think by the rules it was a fair no try. He did get the ball and run around graham. HOWEVER JWH made very little attempt to make a tackle, and was more interested in gaining the refs attention. THis is the thing that needs to stop. Players giving up on the play in hope of a whistle. Which then leads to a no try cos they didn't get to the player.
JWH got a hand on Holmes, and could made the tackle/got in front of him if he didn't milk it.
By the rules-no try
Common sense - try

Yeah its hap-hazard at best. I was kinda proud he ballsed up and took him off when he was clearly gassed, but was confused why he went back out 4mins before halftime. Flanno said in the presser Gal wasn't happy about coming off, so probably he won a 7min argument and go back out there.

On interchanges there was a very noticeable difference in how direct we became when Taga and Heigno came on I thought. Heigno in particular (**** if only we could get more out of Taga) hit the advantage line off of Ennis perfectly, got good meters pre and post contact with quick play the balls - really got us rolling I thought. Unfortunately it was backed up by a gassed out Gal, lazy Taga and tiring A.Fifita. Need to look at that - A.Fifita off the back of Heigno quick play the balls is the most appealing off top of my head.

is said in another thread. We NEED gould here to handle football operations. Im pretty sure this is his final year of his Panthers deal

And his son plays in a successful Sharks team!
But....................
Is there room for Lyall and Gus' big personality at the club.
Granted one is CEO and you are proposing the other to be head of football, but Gus will want to be head honcho of everything wouldn't he? So although it would be great for our club, I'm not sure it would work.

We say it all the time, but damn Heighno turned out to be a good signing. Tigers should not have let that bloke go.

I wish soccer mums were concerned about bull**** refereeing as much as they were shoulder charges.

I should be careful. They'll probably outlaw penalties because the offending player was just being himself - sorry, theirself (I don't want to genderfy anyone). Get rid of the scoreboard too because there are no losers its all about fun and we're all winners. yay.

Just watched the replay, that last 20 mins we actually looked liked a well drilled footy team. Graham was immense.
