I hope I am wrong but I don't think Todd will ever get it, I have concerns for him once he has finished with footy/retired, I am not trying to be funny but he really needs a woman, kids even to get some focus in his life, if I was his personal mate or family member of his I'd be really worried long term for him.

I have it on good authority that Carney comes from a rough background. I wont go into specifics but if you knew the details, its understandable that he enjoys a good drink. And lets be honest he really hasnt done all that much wrong beyonf getting in a drunken car chase at Canberra. By all rights he should get another crack and im sure he'll do just fine.

His old man died when he was young i think? Like 12-13?

The problem isnt someone having a drink, for todd its just that all his sackings and dramas have involved grog. Plus the company he keeps. A particular no hoper footy player that didnt stand to lose a 650,000 a year job for example.

I hope todd comes good he is a brilliant league player. Just needs to prioritise a bit

just a car chase aye - urinating in mouth, setting someone on fire, pissing on someone ect ect

I got nothing against him but he hasn't just done the average run of the mill DUI, he is a long history of anti-social behavior

Good footy player, wouldn't want him as a mate though

The nrl has people convicted of sexual assult, domestic violence and even a dude who admitted to strangling his own missus and you guys want to harp on about peeing in mouth and lighting a dudes undies on fire whilst down at the pub. Certainly not the best role model but the nrl is no glamour sport here.

Huh? Completely different incidents. Carney was just continually doing dumb **** first time he got busted was 2006-2007 i think. So nearly 8 years of not learning his lesson.

Why are we talking about this

I've known Carney since we were 5.

He's always been a loose kid, and no good on the drink.

In saying that, in his twilight days at the Sharks, its the most mature I've seen him. He's the kind of bloke thats constantly needs a kick up the arse.

I wouldn't mind a pom in the team. Heard there are a few good halves In super league wanting to give the nrl a crack. Should be chasing them now I think.

(And don't say Ben Pomeroy for god sake lol)

What's everyone's thoughts for half recruitment now then?

Carney and Kelly seem like no chance of ever returning.
Hopkinson and Maloney would take massive overs but may stay with their clubs anyway.

Leaves Sandow really as the only half available with experience.
Or if we take a punt with a junior/less experienced half we have the likes of Townsend, Cornish, elgey or kodi nikorima.
Not a whole lot of options left but still have DCE money, so not sure if we are a chance of snaring two.

After watching Elgey recently he's my number 1 choice now. Can't see it happening.
