Seriously though what do you guys think of Sezer? Preferred choice or someone else?
I didn't watch the first 2 Titans games too close and am yet to watch their last showing, but from what I've seen of him in the past and considering what else is off contract I'd have him top of my list to chase. Good boot, bit of toe, can create a bit, match awareness, damn good goal kicker and has a few seasons under his belt.
I am warming to the idea yes. I just don't rate hodkinson much at all (not that I think he'll leave the bulldogs anyway).
I've stated my lack of enthusiasm for Hodko before. He's Robbo before he lost a bit of pace and his kick.
We've got the makings of a side who with a couple touches of class in the right spots could jag a comp. The halves is one of the most important spots where we need that touch of class. Securing DCE could of made it a possibile in the next 2-3 seasons. That would of been perfect in that we could go all out in the next 2 to win a comp, and either way still have him to build again with the likes of Val, Gagan, Barba, Graham, Feki etc.
To sign a Sandow could bring us success, but I feel it would be more by luck than design - and we're not lucky. He may be around still when we reload our roster and have another go.
Signing a guy like Maloney would be okay. I think good enough to enable us to push in the next 2, but thats about all he should be around for. This would require a proper plan to bring through a young replacement in a season or two, preferably one of our own.
Out of the confirmed first graders I guess I'd go:
Sezer - Good to go and will be around to see out the next 'phase'.
Maloney - Stop gap but also good to help us contend. Heavily reliant on our ability to bring in an unnoticed and/or young talent.
Hodko/Sandow - Can't split 'em. For either to work it would take a good effort to improve Hodko or keep Sandow firing.
I'm reserving judgement for a bit, but a lot of that is reliant on coaching, and at present it doesn't look like we're capable in that department.
