I'm actually laughing reading through this thread, what did you all expect?

I was hoping for two things, that we scored a try and that they didn't crack 60 points. So I'm not to phased by this loss.

We're literally missing our first choice props and our second row has taken a beating too. So bad that Ayshfords being used there.

I haven't been able to watch the game (working) but I did watch the highlights package, after defending well against the Warriors, Jono and Brown seem to have slumped back to their form against Parra. One thing I noticed and it's probably do to inexperience, but the first try I think, Jono got a loose hold on Felua's (or what ever his name was) chest and Brown stood back looking for the offload and allowed him to break free to offload to Korabete. Nu should have run and went in low as Wright was never going to keep hold of him in that position. As I said it's probably due to inexperience and you see a lot of rookie halfs do it, but he needs to work on focusing on the man on the ball and not his support.

And **** like this annoys me. So people are frustrated losing regardless of the make up of the team. So what ?

I understand being bummed that we lost, but to be angry we got smashed just baffles me.

Gordon, Feki, Leutele, Wright, Robson, Heighington, Lichaa and Gallen are the only players tonight that would have been in our team if it wasn't for injuries, suspensions and the sacking of Carney. Literally more than half our team are NSW Cup players with little first grade experice coming up again a full strength Melbourne team (and arguably the benchmark of the NRL for the past decade) in Melbourne. Not only that but Melbourne were out to prove a point after their lose to Newcastle.

Like I said earlier in the week, we got a lightweight pack we struggling against big forwards like last week against the warriors.

Yes, even our top team we can not match with the better packs ... no intensity , no mongrel no bloody good.

What did we expect? We expected that the men that get paid to play football carry themselves with self respect and respect for the jersey to put their bodies on the line and defend their tryline like their lives depend on it for the jersey on their backs. We got nothing like that, especially in the first half, it disgusts me.

Not angry with the loss, it was more at the same old stuff that happens every week - the not moving up in defence is just killing us. Every set of 6 that doesn't end up with a try ends with an attacking kick inside our 20 because we gift teams metres.

And jeff robson cannot be in 1st grade next season not even for 1 minute, he can captain nsw cup.

Just finished watching the game, first half we were shocking but I gotta say, we played some good footy in the second half IMO.

Also it pains me to say it, but I gotta give props to Blake Ayshford.

Guy's been playing NSW Cup for a while now and seemed to grab his opportunity with both hands. Had a good game.

Also though (excluding his effort for Melbounes last try) Prior had a good game. Ran hard.

GAME DAY!

Let's get excited guys!

Holmes first try scorer from a beauty of a pass from Jono, lock it in Eddie!

Not to far off. Holmes was our first try scorer and it was a great pass... Just not from Jono Wright.

As Meatloaf said, 2 outta 3 ain't bad.

Went there. Saw nobody. Went to the game lol.

Went popped into the away supporters bay for 10 min just before kickoff, spoke to a few friendly punters... We need name tags g'day again whoevere u guys were.. Most entertaining thing all night sitting next to some bloke and his misuses from Townsville huddling up under their blanket telling me how cold it was...

Didn't meet anyone (unless we spoke to each other without knowing) but had a great time regardless of the game.

Great stadium and those Melbourne supporters are absolutely insane, they can make some serious noise.

Also I think there was a grand total of 12 sharks supporters in the away bay.

Gal also said that they did hardly any defensive work all year until Shep took over.

Wtf were they doing?! :lmao

If this is true that'll do me. Why does this club continually allow for such an amateur outlook when they are paying players millions of dollars to play this game?

Every other organisation would be looking to get a return on their investment and go about it in the most professional manner they could.

I don't have the stats but I'm sure we have never leaked so many points before this year. Sharp was our defensive coach as Flanno's assistant prior to taking on the main role - does that mean all defensive practices were ignored for the bulk of this year?

Why did I choose the Cronulla Sharks to follow 35+ years ago....

A lifetime of frustration!:

I wonder if it's because they were so busy doing extra work on their attack... :inyouget
