And if the club was serious about presenting a clean image, knowing they are in a game full of idiots, they would host parties every weekend, all weekend, where only the team and certied guests could attend. They'd leave their phones at the door and then go nuts: getting maggot, getting naked, golden showers, docking, bubbling, gang raping, hookers...whatever. Boys will be boys, Sharks Board, give them somewhere to be boys away from the public and watch this all go away.

Yeah, but it wouldn't be fun if you couldn't do it in front of the general public.

He MUST have been posing for that photo too. There is no way that someone could have just snuck their phone out and taken that picture. The angle needed to be perfect to get it to look like he was pissing in his mouth.

Silly.
Hard to say, when a guy is so damn smashed, to such a degree to pretend to piss in his own mouth in front of other blokes... perhaps it is plausible that he didn't recognise the danger of the other bloke-with-his-phone-out filming it? I dunno.

Well how about teaching your kid values as a parent. I'm over hearing this role model ****. Society put these blokes up as role models. Not the players. Instead of putting the "I don't want my kids to be trying this ****" line out there every time a player ****s up, you are the parents, you are there to teach them right and wrong ffs

****ing oath. Get this crap out of the papers and let them just be footballers.

What carney did is fine. He was not pissing in his mouth. He pissed in a way that looks like it but so what. If i was him i would hire investigators to track down who distributed the photo then sue them. I would then sue the sharks and the NRL for terminating his contract without cause. His mate would have to take the wrap for the photo as well.

It is illegal to photo someone in a public toilet, it is illegal to distribute naked images of people without consent. Hence making Todd the victim no matter how stupid u think it was.

However it is quite obvious the NRL are calling the shots here. Its funny that they can slowly destroy this club but cant quite finish the job.... Yet.

If it was a first offense then he might have got away with it.

Sharkyboy nobody has a problem with blokes carrying on a bit, geeing each other up, whatever, But is it this generation that its somebody els's fault, no responsibility, and if he had a couple of mates that gave him a spray or god forbid jobbed him a few yaers ago, maybe he wouldn't self destruct every 18 months or so. Anyway he's gone so has sharp and mark my words lewis wan'ts out aswell.

Lewis can go to.

How many games has he played anyway?

Arona is better and has been our best player this year.

A lot of these things aren't necessarily controlled by the papers anymore. Remember this photo appeared on a persons private twitter account.
Yeah I know but we need to stop putting these blokes up on a pedestal.

Why can't watching them do what they do best be enough?

They are paid entertainers why do we all feel the need to pry into their private lives.

I don't buy the whole the kids idolise them so they need to behave thing.

I was obsessed with a bunch of different footballers as a kid some of them did things that would have seen them sacked from clubs or worse these days.

The only people that should be considered a role model are people with close ties to that person.

I know it's harder to keep this sort of thing secretive in this day and age with social media etc but at the end of the day a kid should be taught values by someone who has a major influence on their life not some bloke they watch play football.

I know it will never change and not every one will agree.

There are plenty of people out there who have lost a parent at a young age and have not followed the same path.
I don't know what Todd was taught. It's reasonable to assume that his mum tried but he is just a **** up.

Wow - ain't you a real piece of work. Pull your head in.

Some good points there. Unfortunately this common sense approach doesnt work in the sporting world that is
ruled by media & sponsor $$$. Imagine if you were the CEO of a major sponsor of a club that had an incident like this.
You would be on on the phone demanding action as your brand is now associated with poor behaviour.
Shareholders and Boards don't like bad media. Period.

Also think how a CEO would react if a key staff member, say a CFO, had an incident like this played out in public.
The CFO would be sacked no question. Same thing here. It all comes down to the perception of corporate image.
