I voted no initially, but warmed to the idea purely for the fact that Bunji would have attracted sponsors and bums on seats.

Ah well. Winning games will do the same thing!

Up up Cronulla!!!

I'm not too bothered by this result, except to echo some of the questions above - How do the queens fit him into their top 25 this year?

This needs an answer - otherwise it's deadset criminal.

They must have spent close to their salary cap this year..... Next yerar they will have to get rid of a heap of Players Does the NRL Bother to monitor the Cap any more or do the Dragqueens come under the same restrications as Easts and The Dogs?

Do you think they might take prior back on a reduced wage.

I'm spewing he didn't come to us. Would have bought more than just what he puts out there on the field. Sponsorship opportunities, more supporters, bring kids through the gates.

I applaud Freddie Kruger for the statement, good to see us get on the front foot and inform us supporters where we stand. Put an end to the speculation.

And to the morons wishing him an injury, just because he signed elsewhere, pull your heads in.

His last real pay day, of coarse you take the coin. Any smart person would. I personally wish him well.

As I've said, I'm not bothered with his not signing with us.

What I'm seriously bothered with is the ability of the queens to sign him

Nobody has explained how this is possible under the cap yet.

I love how people always defend players taking the bigger $$ offer like their on the bones of their ass living out of a cardboard box. Benji would of made more money at the tigers than most people make in a lifetime.

And I'm sure the rugby union would have given him a decent pay cheque.

I hate it when people compare it to your own jobs. Saying "you'd leave your job for more money too". Think about this, these days footballers earn on average around $150,000, maybe more yes? How can you compare him to some average bloke earning 40,000? The whole "you would too" arguement doesn't work because it is two completely different circumstances. Anyone can make a decent living on $150,000, not on $40,000

Yes but your yearly wage would carry on until you retire. If you stay within that job.

League players careers aren't that long. And unless they set themselves up with degree etc it may be harder to gain suitable employment.

Also, let's say you are on a 50k a year wage. You leave for more coin and a new challenge, but that doesn't work out. So you want to go back to the former industry, then you have 2 offers, 1 offering considerably more money per year than the other... Seriously, which would you take?
