Gallen said today that fifita has made a big mistake and won't do as well at the bulldogs
i was at the a coffee shop this morning and i overheard a lady that i wont name talking to a guy about Fifita, he has been told that he wont be as succesfull at the bulldogs because of their structure, not playing structure but the bulldogs management, even Lara Pitt from fox sports said the same thing. Just what i overheard!!!
I actually agree with himGallen said today that fifita has made a big mistake and won't do as well at the bulldogs

Lara Pitt wouldnt know **** from shoe polish. The only reason people like her and erin molan are on shows like the footy show etc is because of feminists like raelene castle
Maybe, maybe not!. He could have had a stormer against the dogs and set the tone for the year, letting them know he is a Shark for this season. On the other hand this may have not happened. We will never know.I actually think his 2 week suspension will be a blessing in disguise.
By the time he comes back - the dust will have settled on this little saga, we will all have cooled down and Fifita will come back with a clear head.
The bloke can still have a massive year for us.
After that, who really cares.

Sorry man but market value "is the price at which an asset would trade in a competitive auction setting". That's all. It's not the average price that most would pay, or what most would consider to be the right price, it is simply the price it sold for. If you are selling apples you get an average, because there are lots of apples so lots of sales, but there is only one Fifita, so the price he sells for is his market value. Ask a high school economics teacher. You can talk about the market value of props, but that would be assuming all props have the same value. Unlike new season apples, they don't.
I had to write that because you kept saying "mmm".
Cool man. But my quotation marks are from Wikipedia. Anyway he's sold for a lot! We know that much.Chogm, you seem like a good bloke,I'm here to talk footy, free of background, profession or education,Or point-scoring(which by the way I don't think your trying to do) however may i note, not only is your definition incorrect, your reference to an economics teacher is irrelevant and out of context, in the matter of market value.Let's agree to disagree, and move on- but not confuse people. Up up Cronulla!
It's pretty fuged. Who determines what he is worth "in the cap" if most of the payments are coming from outside? If Cronulla were going to give him 700k inside the cap then why should he be listed for less at the dogs? It's a flawed concept, open to manipulation and massive distortion. But the NRL is severely flawed organisation, so no surprises there.Check out the Roy Masters article in today's smh about Third Party Agreements folks. It gives an insight into how the dogs and other big clubs manage the cap. Not something I was aware of. Even though the NRL won't let a club register a player for an amount that seems too low, the TPA's probably mean they can always pay at the bottom end of what is acceptable. So the nrl may have registered Fifita for 600k, with 250k in 3rd party non club sponsor deals. To compete we'd need the total 850, and then be 250 higher in the cap than the bulldogs are now. So they practically got Lichaa and Fifita for what it would have cost us to pay for just Fifita.
What about a points system instead of a $alary cap?
Each player could be allocated a set of points based on experience.
Each players value would be reassessed by the NRL at the start of the last yr of their current contract (or set for debutants when they are promoted to NRL roster).
The system would only apply to top 25 NRL players for each club.
NSW Cup and Toyota cup players would only be allocated the points when they make NRL debut or are part of the initial 25).
For example,
An international player could be worth 10 points, Origin 8 , NRL 6/7, fringe 4/5, Toyota cup 2/3 etc
Each clubs top 25 can’t exceed a max. amt (let’s use 175 for arguments sake, which is an average of 7 / player) and Clubs would need to request dispensation from NRL to breach this amt if hit by excessive injuries.
Discounts could be applied for juniors, long serving players, or players who have improved from say fringe to international if they resign with their current club.
This could help stop the rumours of salary cap breaches and hopefully even out the comp.
it would also reward teams who develop fringe players, juniors and help loyalty.
The $$$ then become irrelevant (and players can demand whatever clubs can afford through NRL grant and 3rd party payments) as clubs can’t go and buy a premiership as they would need to stay under the points system.
Let’s take Andrew Fafita.
He would have been a fringe player went he went to the Sharks, so maybe worth a five.
He remains a five until 01/01/2014 (the start of his last yr of current contract).
NRL reassess him and puts 10 points if he switches clubs, or 8 if he resigns at Cronulla (as they have developed him from fringe to international).
He can command $1m a season if he can get it, but a club can only have a team worth 175 points in total.
We might then have been able to hold onto juniors/ developed players like Frizz, Peach, Lichaa, Townsend ???, Bukuya, Fafita (or know the real reason, ie that they didn't want to stay anyway for other reasons. Aka Douglas apparently).
