Just to help clarify the Carney situation:
"Carney was in doubt leading into the game after copping an elbow to his chest from Roosters winger Daniel Tupou in the opening minutes of last week's 40-0 loss to the tricolours, and scans later revealed a fractured sternum.
But the Sharks' No.6 insists resting is not an option, nor will it be for the remainder of the season as he looks to guide the club to their first premiership.
''Today was the first day I played with it and I had Sika Manu running at me all day,'' Carney said.
''With 'Pom' [Ben Pomeroy] and James Bukuya there it helps a lot and I can move to the wing to protect it a little bit. But at the back end of the year we can't do that because we have to have our structures right.
''Hopefully with time it will just get better. It feels all right, so hopefully when you needle it and put the pad on it, I'm confident it will be right. It will need time to heal but the time to heal will be from now until Saturday.''
