Benji didn't touch the ball with his foot for the quick penalty tap.

Whats the ****ing go with the quick tap anyway. No consistency in that either. The refs only allow it when they are in position. Benji's i guess the refs were more or less in position for, even though he didnt tap it anyway. But why is it when there is a penalty 2-3 meters out they dont allow the quick tap cos they want to **** around getting back to position, the advantage in the event of a penalty should always go to the team awarded the penalty. Instead with the 2 refs ****ing around to make position, the team defending gets time to reset their line. No advantage except for 6 more tackles.

If i made the rules, the ref that blows the penalty should give the player the mark and when he does they are free to tap and run if they choose.

If Hayne put as much effort into playing as he does arguing with refs he'd be a darn fine player.

Yeah it's crap. it should be allowed to happen far more often. The ref should just call the penalty and mark the spot, rather than having a conference with the penalised captain explaining the decission.

I think Carney tried to take one in our last game and was called back.

It was a poor quality game but Jesus the Eels had some horror calls go against them.

How did Ryan get penalised for slapping Koribete after Koribete slapped him first? Granted the tackle was a shoulder charge from Sandow and I wouldn't have minded if that was penalised but to say that Koribete only pushed Ryan with him retaliating with a "punch" is a horrible call from the touchie.

The other horrendus call was the Benji tap. I thought you could only take a quick tap when both the referees are in position? When Benji took the tap the pocket ref was still running back the 10 which is unfair to the Parramatter players as they don't know where the set their defensive line. Plus Benji didn't tap the ball correctly.

Carney did try to take the quick tap but was called back for pretty much no reason.

What annoys me with the quick tap is the inconsistancy. In pretty much every game you see a player try and take the quick tap but they're called back with no explanation from the ref to as why. The only player I've seen take a sucessful quick tap mid field and make a break from it is Benji (He did it against the Panthers also).

It's simple I reckon - no quick taps full stop.

It's a bull**** concept, it often occurs when players are in the wtf? moment trying to understand the ref's call...

Eels are just soft, like the past few years they don't play with any heart or toughness in the middle. They're basically the tigers - a gun hooker and 5/8.

The tigers and their fans will actually be thinking that they're a top 8 team now after 2 wins against poor opposition. I think they'll be very lucky to climb above 10th.

What was with hat penalty Sandow had farahs his arm locked between the ball and his arm when they got up then was told to move then so Farah pulls his arm out and sandow just dropped the ball whilst looking at the ref it was such a BS penalty.
Hayne is way out of his depth being captain as well.

Soon they will also realise that having Ricky as a coach will do them no favours with the refs as well.

The captain's always runs up to argue with the ref to give his players time to get back onside
And give them a breather.

Yep Sandow milked that penalty but it seemed like a stupid one to milk. The penalty was given on the first tackle and Parra then took the tap rather than kicking for touch; which means they gained one extra tackle, no yardage and took the risk of the ref calling his bluff and saying you dropped it.

(Notice the use of the semi-colon there? You know someone is rabbiting on too long if they need a semi-colon)
