People are going to be waxing and waning about his ability until he's played here. It's lunarcy to think others will orbit him in attack though.

If we do get him, I just hope he has crater skills than the players we currently have.

Well since this is the rumour mill thought i would get the ball rolling.

Word i have been hearing from various circles i travel with say that the NRL may well be hit by another betting scandal in the near future. From what i have heard TAb suspended betting on a certain game after a large wad of cashola was wagered on an extreme longshot. Rumours also abound that the person placing the bet was photographed by security cams at the tab and shouldnt have been betting on the NRL.

Could be an interesting off season methinks...

I shouldnt neglect to mention that this is an unsolicted rumour atm. Havent had any hard facts, so could be just heresay.
That sounds like a DOG of a game. I've heard the tab referred to as the GREEN MACHINE over the years. Am I on the money.

I hope the moon signing is true. Not as a first choice centre but he's a handy player to have in the squad at a good price and can cover a number of positions adequately without being a star.

He has always has potential, physically he's a great centre build. The way he plays and looks reminds me alot of SKD but he doesn't have the speed to make him a lethal ballrunner. I think he can play a very similar style to what best is doing atm.

He'll be some good competition with leutele, wright, flash for the centre spot.

Totally agree with this statement Digits. He provides depth for centre, backrow and 5/8.

I don't want moon, we aren't the team who gets the dreggs of the comp anymore, no more Cuthbos, Tim Smith or Corey Hughes.

What are you talking about they are three mighty fine players that really helped with the development of the Sharks. Sarcasm

I wouldn't mind Moon but I'd much rather us sign Briscoe.

Der, but would you honestly think that we would pay Moon so much we couldn't get Briscoe?

No, but the fact that it appears that we have signed Moon makes me think Briscoe isn't coming here.
I think the fact that Briscoe is signed to another club and articals have suggested he won't come to the NRL till his contract is finished suggests that. I don't think the idea of us signing a centre-backrower-5/8 is a sign that we won't sign a winger.

Id be happy if Moon signs. As long as hes on a reasonable contract.
I think what people are missing is that Moons "highlights" reel isnt so much a typical highlights reel, more so a compilation made for other clubs reference to showcase what he offers in order "i think" to earn an nrl contract.

In this case i think he offers good versatility and depth, worst case he will be good depth. and i acctualy think he could make a good centre in our side along someone like M.Gordon on the wing.
Moon involves his winger alot an bring that 5/8 mentality. He has a good offload, good step, great pass, a cheeky kick and has enough speed for centre. He can finish a try, and i for one could see someone like Gordon being important on the wing alongside him, coming infield of offloads and making breaks.

Agreed. I think Moon is a decent depth signing. It's good to have options in the backs, and we might be without Pomeroy for a few weeks to start the year.

Before signing Drinkwater, the Dragons made an unsuccessful play for Cronulla back-up No.7 Chad Townsend, who was denied a release from the final year of his deal.

**** this confuses me did chad wanna go?, does he feel theres no spot for him at the sharks?,

id feel pretty crap if i knew Robson was playing ahead of me and i was the better player

or does the fact the sharks denied his release mean they have plans for him? **** i hate all this speculation

Talking to Joel Moons family, he hasn't signed with anyone yet. He has 3 Sydney clubs chasing him.

He will be back in Australia on the 17th for 3 months. So once he is back ill know some more on what's going on

Depth is very underrated on this forum. Not every signing has to be a top calibre signing. Look at our back line options for next year. God forbid Pom, Gards, Mills, and Gordon go down (just mentioned as their poor injury record).

You would hope that we have plans for him.

i hope this isn't true because this means chad will leave the first chance he gets.
