Man, I should put money on this stuff. I can't believe how predictable Origin is.

Here is my prediction for Game 2 - get on it.
NSW will ring in the changes. Gallen to come in to toughen up a forward pack that didn't look like it could dent fairy floss.

Hayne to fullback, Gidley is useless there, on the bench for him. Jamie Lyon will go to centre, what was he doing at 5/8?

Cooper was about as useful as I thought he would be, which is to say, not at all.

Oh by the way, don't worry Blues fans; NSW will win the next game when they play their "proper" team and then wrap up the series at home. Maximum TV ratings assured.

Seriously, professional wrestling is looking more and more believable.:bulgy-eyes:

Man that is the most intelligent post so far - I agree, and I've been posting similar all night - if they pick a team like I (and u pretty much) want we can't lose....

The Blues really need a defensive enforcer. A Dallas Johnson type player. Any thoughts/suggestions? Does Hindmarsh get reconsidered or had his used by date expired? What do we all think here?

His name is Paul Gallen. That's what he does in Origin.

Again:

13) Lewis (c)
12) Watmough
11) Gallen

Ummmmmmmmm, who are you? I had Gallen in my team, but I wouldn't consider him solely as a defensive specialist - at all? Would you? I certainly hope not.

Also, UpUpCronulla, I like your team too, but Lewis needs to start.

That's outrageous Iron! Are you seriously suggesting that professional sport is now so in thrall to the great god television, that a wonderful concept like SOO is now only a vacuous highlights reel of supposed elite competition where the only real 'winner' is the money grubbing mass media? Honestly, I ask you!
Anyways, I'm off down to the local Indian bookmaker where I'm placing a bet on the next T20 cricket match. What could possibly be dodgy about that? :)

i told you so..

sitting through 80 minutes of rain and the best part was people launching bottles at the QLD mascot

a Hack at the back whose positional play on kicks was woeful, **** him

hayne is not a winger, as shown by QLD's first try

Cooper = HOOKED!

Idris - what a muppet, only shows up with only a few minutes to go and had no idea where to stand in defence, **** him too

lyon - whose smart idea was that to put him at 5/8, watmough had a better kicking game

kimmorley - still shows why he has a crap kicking game, he needs a dominant 5/8 or will suck..though i did like him smashing slater, oh **** him too

weyman - ordinary but better then perry

ennis - ever heard of running out of d/h?

perry - donuts

waterhouse - soft, offers nothing

lewis - needs to start

creagh - slap and run, not an origin player, you only got that try because they ****ed up with the thaiday one

watmough - nice kick for our first try

TLL - went ok

White - does he have nudie pics of bellamy or something?

also some of those ref decisions were mind boggling

Hayne
Morris
Jennings
Tahu

Also just discovered that I had jotted this down on my notepad at the game tonight...

"Cheering for the Maroons is like cheering for the house to win in blackjack"

Haha, damn you Caps and every other QLD supporter here! :D

I gotta say something here though... that was a game where you've got the best in the world versus the best in the world.

It doesn't get any better than that in terms of potential if you're to believe all the hype.... that IS the jewel in the crown.

What we're supposed to witness is a contest that is extraordinary.

I thought it was an extra ORDINARY performance by all.

Can anyone here honestly say that was a good game of footy?

You're right Fitz - cos the "jewel in the crown" was stolen by the melbourne cheating coach and his woeful selections....

you're pissed, idris was horrendous, gives Inglis a millimetre of space and Inglis will make him look stupid every time

i pointed out everything wrong with that team before the game and every point i made was proven correct

lol Idris, he has such cool hair, lets pick him

after every rep game gidley plays, you get the "he was ordinary" line..his kick return metres were high because he watched the ball sail over his head and he had to run backwards..sensationally crap..AND HE'S THE CAPTAIN!

Morris has come down with the flu, so to has tahu

Worst Origin game I've ever seen I reckon. Could have been the environment in which I was watching it, but just... slow. It wasn't intense like it usually is.

Really? Because according to the stats I have, Nathan Hindmarsh has made 422 tackles in comparison with Gal's 329. If we're talking about defensive "influence", sure. If we're talking about defensive "stats" however, that's something else.

(For the record to everyone else, I'm as pro-Gal as anyone. But I won't let the facts be muddied. As great as Gal is, he technically isn't "statistically" the best defensive forward in the game. Just saying...)
