His bench selections and use has been so so good the past few weeks. This week I’m thinking the 20 - 60 minute mark we are going to be pretty dominant. Bench: Bhu, Talakai, Williams, Rudolph would have to be one of the strongest in the comp. Whose stronger?

Happy to see that Williams is fit to take the pitch

Fitz has learnt a hell of a lot in the off-season about the use of the bench. He has nailed it this year.

He is also managing the forwards minutes by giving different forwards more minutes each game (like Kaufusi today).

To think only 12 months ago some of us were criticising because players like Toby being on too long etc.

I think he can leave Tommy and Oregon on longer because of the work the backs are doing early in a game which means they have plenty in reserves .
The bench is phenomenal , can't think of a better or more influential bench in the comp .

I think we finally see his mark on the team this year.

Tommy was redlining by the time he came off. Just lucky we weren’t doing much defending on our line at that time or he would have been exposed … That was his Maximum minutes today.

no danger of leaving Toby in too long this week

I reckon Nikora’s try was Fitz’s work.
I wouldn’t be surprised if that was a set play to get the d focused in on a big forward (decoy) so close to the line to draw them in, only to send the ball out wider….

Next 5 games

Dragons (h)
Storm (a)
Roosters (h)
Penrith (h)
Eels (a)

We will learn an awful lot about how far we have progressed over the next 5 weeks

Last few weeks have certainly seemed like a big step forward
Broncos away after that too.

For me, I just want to see us knock off 1 of Storm, Roosters, or Penrith without any excuses. No big outs, or them putting in a shocker. I want to see us go toe to toe in a big match and come out on top. If we can get one of those scalps, and be in the other two without getting belted I'll be happy. It would then be nice to try get 2/3 from Saints, Eels and Broncos (origin back up).

If we can get through that period 3/6 without getting belted, we'll be in an amazing spot.

Needs to get them to block out the noise. We arent going to win every game, we will likely lose at least one game againt the fancied opponents. Cant let the talk of cajt win big games creep in.
