Meh I get the hype, he's electric and does things others can't. Wish we had him.
How do you reckon the forum would go if two guys had a licence to make dumb errors? They are struggling to come to terms with one atm.

One's 21 the other is 27. Yeah I get they're both relatively new to NRL but still, age plays a part.

Very high ceiling for Walsh. I think Nicho will get better but I'm not convinced by much.

Who would you want over Nicho in the halves right now? Honestly. I can only think of 3, Cleary, Munster and Moses.

That's not say he's currently the 4th best half, just that the other good ones are at the end of their careers. Of the other current halfbacks that are playing better (IMO) SJ, Reynolds and Hunt are 33 and DCE is 35. Nicho could spend the next 2-3 years developing, then still potentially have 5 or more years at the top of his game, being as good or better than these guys are now.

Not trying to compare those players.

What I means is... having one guy who plays like this is great if the guys around him play the structure and keep it tight. Having two guys like this though is not really a thing. Just ask Cory Paix.

You wouldn't take him at that price Burgo?
On the Broncos? Yes.

No salary cap? Yes

The way the Sharks are currently built? Not sure.

Say you get to swap Kennedy for Walsh, but because of the cap bump you also have to lose two other starting players on middle-tier money and replace them with depth players on cheap deals.

Say... Kennedy/Talakai/McInnes traded out for Walsh/Iro/Colquhoun or Kennedy/Brailey/Trindall out for Walsh/Berrell/Atkinson

Are the Sharks a better team for this season after either of those swaps? I don't think so.

I agree it's not the easiest straight swap given the current build, but you get Walsh in then build the right squad around him. You could afford a few years teething whilst you worked out some contract elements.

If it was Kennedy, Sifa/Ramien and Royce/Kaufsui/Toby, I think we are are better off. I think that math checks out too.

25 isn't "early on" for me, but splitting hairs.

I think Walsh is a good player and he will improve. Just sick of the hype. He can drop it 6 times, give up 3 penalties and miss 5 tackles and then when he scores a try in the 75th minute the commentators will bang on like the other 16 blokes on the Broncos were passengers.
Sounds like Hynes to me

Atleast Walsh is playing in his best position and his coach isn’t placing all the responsibility on him therefore he will only get better

I agree, there's not much out there. I mean I think Galvin will be a bloody good player but that would be a massive leap of faith.

I would take Hunt for two years, bring some structure and leadership in the halves.

Bulk Trindall up and put him at lock, utilise him in a way we used to with Greg Bird.

Was listening to the James Graham podcast with the Wests CEO and that guy reckons Galvin is the second coming. I haven't heard someone speak that highly about a junior since Ponga

I can't see him staying in the halves long-term. Only limited viewing so far obviously but he reminds me a little of a young Wade.

That’s a big call to say he will be as good or better then these guys as they are now at halfback.

We are all watching him and the team get wasted by Fitz playing him as a halfback ; Give him back his running game

Tend to agree. Hope I'm wrong but I can't see him reaching the heights of a DCE and the like, not as a halfback anyway. Seems pretty obvious he's not that kind of player.
