Shinaz was pretty glowing of Tricky against the Dogs. He's definitely a glass half full guy!
Winning makes us gloss over the negatives. It's like when the big-eared girl in Deuce Bigalow gets a boob job.

Tricky has been fine. Bit clunky at times in attack and has given up a few penalties - but all forgivable/correctable.

I personally thought Nicho struggled in defence for a large part of the Dogs game. Kept my own count on the re-watch and the stat keepers were VERY generous to him on misses/ineffective.

No such concerns with Tricky in defence. His edge has been solid.

Nicho doesn't have any TAs yet either mate, he's also still the dominant half, he should be 2-3 times as involved as tricky.
Winning without the spine players getting TA's? Wow. It's almost as if the other 9 guys on the field matter.

I think Fitz might be on to something here.

I'm actually curious to know who gets assigned a TA for the Talakai try in round 1. Was it Ronnie?

Sharks went from one sideline to the other and back in 2 plays. 9 different guys touched the ball and more than half of those 9 guys had two touches.

Yep - was 100% Ronnie there. Give him a stat.. Try Assist is such a wank.

I've been wondering where Wiz is honestly.

@Wiz You right mate? Welfare check.
He'll come back just to tell you not to @ him.

Reminds me when I used to use an App to track calories - it only counted if I logged it in!
I always found myself pretty honest at logging the 1800 calories of food, but quite negligent when it comes to logging the fourteen schooners.

Tricky hasn't done much wrong but hasn't really done that much of note either (good backing up for his try though)

His defense has not been to the standard of Hynes but that wouldn't be due to a lack of effort or shirking (Mozza 2023)

In terms of involvement Hynes has had 2-3 times as much output as Braydon in areas of kicking metres, runs & passes.

Braydon does not have any assists as of yet (because we loved highlighting this with The Chad).

It's only 2 games into a season and Hynes doesn't look to be relinquishing any control or responsibility in the halves but Tricky will still need to justify his position for the long term and this is the season he probably needs to do it as he no longer has any players in his way for the 6 jersey so can play week in week out in FG.

Will be interesting to see where he is at come mid point to back end of the season and if he is relising his potential or still struggling to find consistency and coming out of Nicho's shadow.

Coach has a role to play in having Nicho & Brayden play to his strengths
Tricky was a bees dick away from a 40/20 (but hit it to hard and went into touch on the full).

There is a lot of upside to come from Tricky. Be patient.

I am patient I'm just commenting on things as they stand right now 2 rounds in

Depends what stats you look at (source). Nicho was credited with at least 1 try assist according to NRL.com unless they have updated it in last few hours. Personally I don't remember the try assist but eye test he has created opportunities (ironically the hynes to tieg for Trindalls try comes to mind)

Trindalls defense? yea nah he goes alright but he was down for like 5 missed tackles in a game recently @ something like 50%. I don't remember any directly leading to trys against us (might have been) but that wasn't good reading.

If his edge has been ok defensively then perhaps he is doing enough with the help around him to shut things down and yea stats don't tell the whole story.

Nicho ain't been perfect (note my comments on his Dally M votes) but has by far been the more influential half - perhaps to be expected at this point

Tricky is a bloke that has a groove, I just don't think anyone knows what it is yet - not in FG anyway. We know he's a monster in cup

**** Gards. They have only had 3 tries put on them so far. One was AFB from 1m out. You can’t remember the other two?

I actully didn’t know that

I’m right here brother.

Locked out of my account ; Tricky hasn’t set the world on fire yet but he’s doing the 1%ers very well which is good to see because that wasn’t always there

We’ve all seen what he can do in attack, he will get there with time.. just happy that Moylan the handbrake isn’t in his way anymore and we have been defending better as a unit

Better than ever 🦍🦍

We’ve got Tricky starting and McInnes captain nowadays.. Fitz has been listening and given the boys what we want.

Let’s make it 3/3 on Saturday
Still feels Nicho thinks he's Captain

I honestly don't know who is our captain

**** fan or **** coach? Seems like we have 3 depending who is available and on the field

Kinda makes sense but we need one true leader?

All leaders on the field I guess but still who does the ref tell us no9t to take peoples heads off? Cam doesn't want his head!

3/3 would be super nice

McInnes and Finucane are our captains

Seeing the team train last year… Nicho is our one true leader

Sure he fumbled that ball that lead to a try but seriously his one on one defence on the tryline was pretty good. He and Talakai are forming a better defensive partnership than old mate.

When he got the chance to kick, there's was one kick that got us out of our end. I am not sure why Hynes is taking all the kicks when Trindall has a decent boot.

Shame that we throw everything on one half in attack.

No doubt about it. He's an exceptional defensive half
