The bounceback will almost certainly happen. My problem with that is that beating the dogs does nothing to prove we're a decent team. Last two games were perfect opportunities to test ourselves against decent opposition. Now we've got dogs, dragons, tigers in the upcoming weeks, we'll probably beat all 3, but there's still the issue of not matching it with the best that we need to fix.

As for team changes, i think 15 weeks of Moylan/talakai/wilton leaking points should surely be reason enough to shake things up. Especially when we have a first grade halfback in Trindall playing reserves, and a first grade centre in Tracey doing the same. It's not a drastic change, but it could make a lot of difference.
Seems logical.

Trust me, if we win the next three, all will be forgotten until we come across another top 8 team.

Its a problem when we bounce back against weaker sides, we look good again and then they keep persisting and beleiving in the same lineup and game plan ♻️

Club doesn't owe **** to wrist-slitting sooks who bail out whenever it's not all rainbows & lollipops. **** those emotional midgets.

You got experience, ticker & common sense - not to mention Fitz's ear - so I'm obviously not including your good self in the above.
Lucky they don't follow the Tigers.

Sigh...

Couple ex sharks in the reserves.

Pele, Nu Brown, heck even Flanno - these players would almost be handy for us right now

That will teach that mug Fitz.

I’m gonna make my best St George banner for the hill.

Redeem themselves against a bottom 8 team? Ppft not much there. B

Watch us bring the line speed this week after the rocket we got and then lock it back in the shed when we face the good teams

Good point, what we actually need right now was probably a solid month of back to back against top 8 teams to really access things and make the necessary adjustments. The pressure of mounting losses might have actually forced Fitz to be a bit more drastic and urgent as well

Yea it would have been ugly losing potentially 4 straight or whatever and the blood letting in here would fill an oil tanker BUT even if it tanked the teams confidence even more the lessons and learnings would pay dividends down the track (even if that's only from the coaching side and not necessarily the players)

Speaking of players I would rather know right now which of our players are up to task and have the desire to slog it out and work hard and peform well in their positions than a few weeks out from finals.

Bouncing back against weaker sides is what we have done for years at this point but it doesn't build enough resilience or competency in the long run.

Teams like the Dogs help us make the finals with the 2 points we will likely get and everyone gets to pat each other on the back with a win but it doesn't help us that much in the big games when we really need everyone on the field to step up and the structures, fitness and gameplans really get tested.

Totally OT, but @Thresher mate, how much for you to change your avatar pic? My 3-year old keeps yelling "Thomas!" whenever he sees it! :p

And now let our normal service resume

“Fitz my boy, I need you to play Moylan again this week, I know I said last week was the last time but it’s really nearly broken some of these guys! Cmon give him another run! Yours truly, Chad”

Look, I’m just as devastated and disappointed as you all are with the results of our past two games. There’s absolutely no excuse for our poor performances. Every player, coach, coaching staff, trainers and officials should all be accountable.

And we as fans have every right to be pissed off, we have been promised so much by the club and coach but we now find ourselves very much disillusioned and downhearted and it’s almost impossible to imagine us turning this around even against the Dogs.

But this is my club and I’ve been following them for 50 years. I’m proud of the club, the colours, the area and I’m not about to take a backward step and back out or stop supporting them or stop attending games.

When I’m sitting in my seat at Shark Park at 4.05pm this Sunday, all memory of those lacklustre performances against the Storm and the Broncos will be erased temporarily from my memory. A new wave of emotion will wash over me as the boys run out and begin a new adventure on home soil.

No matter how you feel about our performances, and team selections, please don’t give up on our club now.

Get out to the game or switch on your TVs and cheer the boys home.
Ill never give up on the club. Ive also followed them for 50 years BUT there needs to be changes. Same as the Wallabies all being fully contracted, RL club players have no skin in the game anymore. In the day it was $200 a win and about $10,000 sign on.

Winning meant a lot.

Not now. You lose and lose and still get paid.

A quote I heard in the bush league 30 odd years ago:

"$200 a game and as much wacky tobaccy as you can smoke."

“Yo Chaddles! It’s ya boy Craig Fitz-gizzle. Sup gee?

Check that yo. Matty-Moy-Boy still in the 6.

Did you still want me to have Tricky play 9 minutes off the bench this week as a forward?

Ya homie - Fizzo”

On board with Hazleton being in side, with Hunt out I'm on board with Jesse over Wade, I don't think Moylan is our main issue like some seem to but I'd be keen to see Trindall given a go. It must be very close between them I'd think. I know many disagree but I think it is Moylan's jersey to lose and he hasn't lost it yet, he wouldn't want to give Tricky a chance though.

I think McIness is playing better than Dale... or providing more impact at least, but actually open to keeping him on bench because of that. Wouldn't hate starting him though. Dale I'd be pretty happy to move into prop rotation to free up field time for McInnes and Williams at 13.

I'd be keen to see what Berrell could give us but I don't think Blayke only doing the basics very well and not a huge amount more is so bad. Additionally we have seen him have some decent running games this season when the rest of the team have laid a platform. Agree he hasn't hit ceilings we originally thought we would see but does hooker basics of get to hooker and make tackles very well for 80 mins week in week out.

I don't think any of those changes significantly fixes a teamwide disregard for ball security, or issues with defence (line D for both sides and middle, line speed, staying aware). If we respected the ball to the tune of 80%+, added a little line speed and halved our egregious defence efforts the 17 Fitz is putting out there are absolutely good enough to win most games.

and what would those muppets know
Literally less than nothing and only in the job because of who they know, if forum is to be believed
