Don't take it too hard mate, it's just a game as you said. If the players can laugh it off after the game, so can we.
With your interest for Ancient History, I'm sure you can dig some highlights of years past to lift your spirits up. Say 2016 or even further back :D
IMHO, the players should not be laughing after a result like that.

What bothered me most about yesterday is that we did not even looked like we put up a fight. That is where leadership comes in. I was expecting a spark or a change, something, anything after half time but it was more of the same. It was shameful.

Whole next week is very crucial and will show what kind of character this group of players have.

Wondering why they keep pushing passes in situations where, even if the pass is successful, it's not going to create much benefit.

I was surprised how long we stayed out going through warm up drills, I wonder if Fitz saw something pre game that was concerning. Storm I rekon went in 3.50 i swear we ran in on the final channel 9 ad break at 4.02. At ground level we had no answers for big Nelson and his pure power,

Yep I said the same thing at the game. Felt like the longest warm-up I've seen us have.

I've been looking at the stats and it's surprising what turns up. All stats have to be adjusted relative to possession. So you can't make metres or post contact metres without the ball. Post contact metres were 506 to 347. As a share of possession which was 60-40, we basically had the same PC metres as Melbourne. Maybe all our metres were made late in the game when it doesn't matter. Dunno.

Not sure about the extended warm up but we definitely came out playing like we were desperate for early points. Which totally backfired.

I hope next week we see a steadier side with more confidence in their ability to defend and build. We could put 50 on the Dogs if we keep our **** together for the first 30 minutes... And it's completely fine if 40 of those points are in the last 20 mins.

Good question
Fatigue maybe???
I guess the theory is to generate second phase play but there was no one ready to do anything with the pushed pass a lot of the time,

Maybe in training there's a structure there to do something with it but because of fatigue or not giving a damn it wasn't there during the game.

They coughed up ball with stupid errors and then did a lot of tackling, I’m guessing the fatigue kicked in and made matters worse.
No excuse thou. They played shite yesterday!

Maybe Nicho’s head wasn’t quite right either with Origin in the back of his mind and playing his old club (too many distractions).

They could also put 50 on us if we are not switched on

All the changes in the world wont cover the fact that we need 2 meter eating props who can wrestle momentum back

But burgess will make a graph on why we dont and you’ll all buy into it

Burgo presents an opinion & shows how he got it. Is up for debate. Most ****s just say **** devoid of thought

Somehow scoring two upgrades at prop would be awesome

I acknowledge the backs contribute a lot to this but
We sit 6th for average meters made with the worst completion
Sufficient meters are there to take

I'd probably take an upgrade in defence and ball security in the middle over extra meters.
But again, any upgrade is always good, wouldn't say no

I wasn't even mad after this game. It was a loooong time coming.
