I just want to go back to @CrazyMatt and his comments before on this thread about how we are Cronulla and we just have a history of losing unlosable games and ****ing things up when we have built up a lead. Or losing to a team that we should easily beat.

I've been a long time supporter and I know where he is coming from. But the puzzling thing is that we have a coach who comes from a club with a winning culture. We have a number 7 and our chief playmaker and best player that also comes from a club with a winning culture as does our on field captain in the 13 jumper.

So how do this **** continue with those three running the show?

If you want to take it further and look at our CEO and Chairman, those two fellows also seem to be winners.

What is it that makes us Cronulla and lose games that we shouldn't?

I'd love to hear people's opinions on this.
Hynes is new and tbh still raw in his first grade career plus he’s in a new role and has his hands full trying to do everything on the field

Finucane IMO isn’t as good as he once was and like Gallen is an actions first/follow me leader - problem is Finucane isn’t Gallen and Finucane isn’t Cronulla and Finucane isn’t even playing representative football no more, he had leaders around him in Melbourne.. here ? Nothing

Fitz - A new shiny coach but that means nothing if he can’t man manage and adapt he’s also someone that seems stubborn, I’m not sure how he is behind closed doors but trust if he keeps it up he will get exposed

To me it comes down to the coach, his playing style, his man management, his player selections and his bench rotation - he’s got a good group of players with potential but is he the man that takes them to the next level I honestly at this point don’t think so because we’ve regressed when we should be improving

It's not unusual for good coaches to have bad patches.

Remember Panthers' fans wanted Cleary gone a few years ago. It happens.

We obviously have a glaring issue on the left, if he doesn't make a change then he's not learning. Golden Boy needs to be dropped, not like we don't have a very good replacement ready to go.

Thanks for your comments guys.

At the moment I am thinking we need win our next 6 games straight (not including the bye) to regain some credibility among our fans and the league public in general.

Considering yesterday's performance, that feat seems beyond our reach at the moment.

Something drastic has to occur. What that is, is up to the coach.

I agree and that’s why I’m happy that this has shined a light on him.. no point coasting when it’s easy it’s been way too long since we’ve been successful when it’s hard

You hire him for big games and leading through hard times. Let’s see

I personally think that second half was all down to a " we're a bit special " attitude , scored 5 tries to 0 in the second half against the Dragons and another 4 in the first half yesterday , and i think some of them thought it was easy and they could score at will . I've seen it many times over the years watching sport and was probably guilty of it sometimes in my younger years playing football .

This is where good coaching ensures it doesn't continue , i'm sure there will be a lot of self reflection over the next 2 weeks , and i hope they never forget that feeling they had when the fulltime whistle went , keeping you're feet grounded in any aspect of life when things are going well is a very difficult thing to learn .

It's never about how hard you fall but how quickly you get up and learn , we will see a very different attitude in 2 weeks IMO . There is too much ability throughout this team and coaching staff for this not to be turned around .

Listening to fox commentary was Flanagan going for the warriors or just trying to be impartial?

Good coaching and senior players. Isn't this why we signed Dale and Cam? They should have been out there tearing shreds of the side and leading from the front. Shitty errors, penalties and no goal line defence. What a ****ing garbage performance.

I think it’s the reverse. We over achieved last year. This year so far is the year we should have had last year and we would have been happy with it.

Our left edge is for me is losing games. Teams are not going to stop going there until we fix it.

That Retro Jersey and the ol Boys combination, plus Warriors owed us a close one. Cronullafied. Personally from afar, apart from the gaps in the roster we know ( prop and specialist centre), is there perhaps a bit of overexposure going on in the playing group away from footy? Rudolph,Hynes,Mulitano, Nikora etc. Perhaps we need to shut down a bit of the individual promo stuff for a while, and focus on good tough footy? ( and bloody take the 2 when its on offer 6 mins from HT!!!!!!!)

Completely agree with your last comment , in regards the second half , but that was my point , coaches , captains , senior players can mitigate for some of the dumb shite that went on . I stick by what i say , they started believing their own press , 2 great halves of footy and they thought they didn't have to concentrate or do the little things that had been there in those 2 halves of footy .
I will add that i have been disappointed in Finucane and McInnes overall but we will see if their leadership skills show through now .

I get what you’re saying I said earlier this year I would expect us to go backwards and Fitz won’t be able to keep it up

Last year we were blessed with a soft draw but as for in reverse I don’t agree with that - I feel like last year we would’ve won that game where as this year the boys are a little too cocky in attack and not willing to get dirty in defence, last year they were at least trying to earn each others stripes in their first year together

Even in commentary Gus said he was in the car with Fitz the main thing Fitz said was he pretty much said he needs to calm them down because all they want to do is attack

It looks like that but instead of last year giving us confidence and motivation to build on it, it made us lazy, over-confident and full of ourselves.

unless we change that attitude, we will get schooled every week.

In my opinion Cam playing off the bench is a mistake. He’s playing like a guy trying to prove something, so he’s overplaying his hand and making errors.

Cam should be the 13 full stop. give him a spell with Wade when he’s back or with Jack.

Dale should bookend with Toby, and Uele comes off the Bench which he’s better at. More impact.

Cam is our lock end of story.

Yeah completely agree with you mate. I think we are still seeing the hang over of a good attacking side having a soft draw. We were patting ourselves on the back for the recruitment of the senior players and coach etc early on. Reality is they haven't had to deal with any hardship/adversity till now. Now they are, they should be earning those early accolades and they certainly aren't.

Cam might end up getting that starting spot if Dale gets some time off for his hip drop. I wouldn’t mind seeing Cam play 60+ minutes at lock.

The left edge is a problem but for me it was the stupid bloody errors that allowed them the field position , also the lack of kick pressure on SJ , once he knew none was coming he had a field day , as i said i think they just got cocky in the second half and got caught with their undies down , great lesson .

Yep attack isn't an issue.

Can't keep picking Teig/Golden Child/Sifa on the left, at least one needs to go. We'll just keep leaking tries otherwise.
Yep. It’ll be the first big, difficult decision for Fitz to make.

Yeah Ronnie’s clean drop was a shocker
