Did we miss Tolmans defensive work in the middle? Does alot of cover defense and does the 1 percenters like putting pressure on opposition

Thought it was strange not having Tolman in the squad. Especially with his efforts in defence, could've used him.

After that game I was shattered, very good game, one of the best I've seen all year but eitherway we'll never beat Penrith with that defence we had in the 1st half, 2 of the softest tries ever. Tracey was very hard done by too, I really don't think that was a sin binning, probably a penalty but not a sin binning. Holmes took a good dive, probably no obstruction with Traceys try in the corner, should go & play football over in Europe haha.

Very hard loss to take eitherway especially being up by 8 in the final part. If Cowboys think they've got a chance to beat Penrith now though, I'd say there wrong by a fair bit. Not the best defence from both sides, the GF's & games before should all be won via defence, no easy tries like there were tonight.

Great game but really disappointed with the result... and the first half defense. That Dearden try was inexcusable.

With the amount of work done tonight on top of two shattering moments (last minute try, drop goal), it's fair to say we'll probably go out in straight sets. It'll be a good learning experience though.

Couldn't stand the Cows before (unless they're playing the Broncos), ain't going to change anytime soon. And with all due respect, **** you, Val.

Turning point in my opinion, Tracey's sinbin and right before that, the penalty for inside the 10 when we had the Cows pinned. 1 tackle before I was thinking "we haven't had an offside penalty for quite a while now, surprising." Well, Gee (Adam), was I wrong!

I've had respect for the Cowboys for years, Todd Payten since his taken over though they've lost all my respect, all he does is blame the referees after their losses & then gives absolutely no credit out where it's due. Holmes can go away too imo.

Not denying he's a very good coach, but he really grates me the wrong way.

Edit for typo

Without a doubt, probably a contender with Fitzzy for coach of the year unfortunately but he's got to learn to give credit out when it's due rather then just have a go at the referees when they go down. He's the same as Bellamy, probably the next Bellamy I'd say.

I’m fine with pretty much all calls except for two which has tarnished the whole game for me.

First was the nicho “knock on” that led to them scoring a try.

But more importantly was that captains challenge in the last minute or so of the game. That was a clear lost ball. We had done enough by that point to win the game. That should have been our ball and we would have had a full set to close the game out. That has totally ruined the NRL for me.

Maybe I’m just bitter and have my sharks goggles on but that was the big call that was just blatant robbery in my opinion

Anyway I can’t see us getting up for another big game next week. That was our one chance to make the big one but straight sets unfortunately is the way for us.
Agree. I thought he deliberately reached out and played the ball on our foot.

A tough loss , but i can live with whatever we achieve this season , i was looking for big improvement the year and a top 6-8 finish , but got a whole lot more , we have a lot of positives to take out of this season , tidy up the rough edges and we are as good as anybody on our day .
We have a lot of young players still only in their 2nd or 3rd seasons and we will be better for this finals experience wherever it ends .
Fitz will have learned heaps as well and with a couple of astute buys we will be rocking and rolling for the next few years .

Just makes zero impact in attack though

Coach is gifting him the respect he deserves.
But , at what price ?
Maybe we’ll get lucky and he’ll be inspired to step up again by a near death experience.

While I’d still be happy not to retain him and rather start Teig there thought a more Wade-like game this week
Tracey was very hard done by too, I really don't think that was a sin binning, probably a penalty but not a sin binning.
Penalty in a scoring situation is a sin bin though
