I’d love him to pop up on the other side of a scrum two passes wide 20-30 out and run straight with full head of steam

The time where Talakai is going to be left 1 on 1 is over. Coach needs to find a way to utilise him better.

yeah wilton??
could it be a thing? I'm sure I've heard it said he can cover centre. but could he become a full time centre?
I thought henwas a centre initially before we turned him into a back rower.
Give him a full off season to 'trim down', work on his speed and positional play and Absolutely he could be a gun outside Talakai on the left edge

The list of people I’d use as centres ahead of Wilton unless it was just a one off, in which case probably just the first four

We could always try starting someone inside him who worries the defense themselves.

Like we were when he first moved out there.

To replace the guy playing centre because he's apparently a backrower, we should convert another young backrower into a centre.

Think I got a brain-freeze.
Totally different playing styles.
We're saying that Talakai is attracting 2+ defenders every time.
Moving him one in creates space outside him.
And Wilton is wasted on the bench as impact and could easily transiton into centre

Talakai has been effective due to the mismatch of his size against other centres. You won't get that advantage moving him in.

I don't see Wilton as fast enough or agile enough to be a full time centre.

Fine to slot him in during injury cover though.

As for Sifa, I think we'll keep him until at least the end of 2026.
