The other forum Gun on Pele probably going to Dogs

There is absolutely 0 interest in us and Pele. We have met with another middle forward and an edge backrower.
Signing Kaufusi and keeping Tolman and Hazleton, there is no want or need in Pele.

Middle forward could be interesting, of those still off contract I would probably take McLean or Taupau for the right price.

Would 100% be giving Tols another year.

McLean has really stepped up this year and would be a great addition

I don’t think we need Tolman and Fifita for next year, with Hazelton and Kaufusi replacing them in the rotation.

Happy to keep one on minimum wage - and for me that would be Fifita. Thats based solely on the fact that I love him and would give him a chicken Twistie if he asked nicely.

Would be good if Newtown picked up Tolman so he was still associated with the club.

I think Tolman will still have something to offer a first grade team next season, just maybe not necessarily with us. Are there any other young forward packs running around in a need of a vet leader and hard headed defender?

I wouldn’t be against us keeping him but we need to give opportunities to these young guys we’ve just invested new contracts in.

Yeah if we're only offering minimum wage, he's not sticking around.

Doing eggs job, but this comes from the other forum:

We just flat out won't be re-signing him (Pele). The middle we met with would be an instant starter.
As would the backrower. I am not sure we could afford both, people seem to think we have 1.8 Mil with Wade and Fifi not signed, but we have upgraded a few contracts.

He (Pele) was all but a Tiger, as was Kade Dykes until they sacked Madge.
Dykes I am hearing will stay and we will re-sign Talakai before he hits the market.

Even with those issues he hasn't missed as many games as people probably think.

His first year at Cows he only played 10 games but on average he plays 18 games a year which isn't that bad for a prop.

Nelson averages 19 games a year.
Christian Welch, not including 2022, averages 16 a year.

I will love Fifs forever, but if you only keep one next year Tolman is clearly the choice IMO.

It's a concern though. Whose to say another 10 game year isn't next year, particularly at a new club with different training setup - for that reason I'd also think twice about leaving if I was him.
If he was a good price we have the depth to cover the risk though I'd say.

He's played 10 more games than Matt Moylan in the same number of years and Moylan has, by all reports on here, missed an unacceptable amount of games.

Seems like a smart guy

You could make that argument for every player joining a new club next year though Bort.

I would also say your half averaging 16 games a year is a much bigger issue than a Prop averaging 18.

Agree, I'd personally definitely argue it more about the guy with known recurrent hamstring injuries than anyone else though... hence here we are!

A bigger issue, yes, more impactful on your team for sure.
I think we probably factored Moylans hamstrings into our new deal for him though so I suspect we should do the same for McLean.

Absolutely see your point mate but if we are being honest every player in the league probaby has a recurring issue of some type.

An argument could be made that Dale's concussions are a bigger risk but I certainly won't be making it.

I did say I would take him at the right price which would take the hamstrings into account.
