Bloke always goes well. He only plays when they don’t have a lot of Sharks players, but seems to score a few when he does play. He got a hat trick earlier in the year I believe.

I don’t know anything about him personally, but he was always talented, and could have gone a long way in the game. Not sure what held him back.

Instead of going to the market, Train and trial option if no contract, be handy left centre or extra back rower. Only seen old highlights, but if he's still got form, option to put him at left centre with Ronaldo, and have Talakai at 12 next to him, left edge would do a bit of damage. Another to look at, Reuben Rennie if he's playing well. Get some late bloomers that fit the pack, like they did with Talakai. Save the money to try lure a top shelf half back to partner Hynes

Rennie is in the same boat. He has been one of the best players in NSW Cup for 5+ years but can’t get an NRL deal.

Imo there must be a reason for these guys not breaking through. Either they aren’t quite there with their off field habits, or they have other work commitments and can’t gamble on a T&T deal.

Luke Page (who is retired now) reckons he could have gotten a minimum wage NRL contract several times but he was better off money-wise doing his normal job and getting a bit of extra from Q Cup.

There was probably some conversations around Edwards going to 6 to accomodate Staines. It’s probably Luai being good that screwed him.
Wasn't Edwards around when Penrith were trying to find a 6? There were a few players cycling through the position but I don't recall him getting a look in?

We should have a look at this kid for some edge depth (has also captained Aus school boys). Can’t believe he’s not locked up somewhere yet.

There was plenty to smile about in both grades for Bulldogs fans on Monday including fan favourite Jackson Topine running amok. Topine scored an impressive try where he beat four Eels players and also notched up 131 running metres, a linebreak and two tackle busts. The workhorse forward also made 33 tackles with two misses.

Topine comes off contract at the end of this season and there’s been no word yet on whether he’ll be re-signed. It’s baffling given the was named the Clubman of the Year in 2020 at just 19-years old and said in an interview last year that he would “go out there and die for the Bulldogs” ahead of his debut.

I don’t think he played there at NRL level. I reckon the conversation would have been had though - even when Laurie was coming through.

He can go play at the bulldogs under Fittler. Fittler always loved him.
And Gus , he'd bar up all the time mentioning his name
Joey always loved him too.

We should get him back. Goes nicely with Fitz's "everyone's a lock" recruitment and development strategy.

By my count, roughly 14-15 players from our top 30 have played lock in an NRL or Cup game at some point. Could be more.

Billy M should try sign with the dolphins or titans imo.
Titans would be a better fit than the Dolphins imo. I could see Billy being useful in a Holbrook-coached team, and I reckon Ray Stone is pencilled in for that "useful extra forward who can pass a bit" role at the Dolphins.

He does have value as a Bench Utility. But just not what the sharks need/want.

billy is dreadful and shouldnt be near an nrl team

likely to be signing with an esl team flirting with relegation or esl 2 looking for promotion
He was released on compassionate grounds so he could return home to Australia.

A club statement said: “Warrington Wolves confirm that Billy Magoulias has been released from the remainder of his contract with immediate effect to return home to Australia on compassionate grounds.

“We thank Billy for his efforts during his time at the club and wish him all the best for the future.”
