Yeah I don't think Fogarty would be moving for anything short of a guaranteed start, and he should get that in Canberra.

I've never heard of Weaver, but don't the Titans have Turner also who has big wraps? Seems like a great base of young players. If they can get a good 9 they could be building something really good.

Yeah mate I have Trindall and Nicho starting with Moylan and Metcalf next in line .

I guess you could make a case for an out and out half back as depth …

Ryan Rivett --> development list

Might start with Flegg but you'd expect him to play the bulk of his footy with the Jets.

Turner is a 6/1 more than a 7. Imo his passing game isn't that flash. Kiwishark knows him well and can give you a good rundown.

They also have Shallin Fuller who is a promising prospect. He's a "both coaches hold their breath" type of player though.

Just from a depth perspective as needing another prop, centre and half have all been raised recently...
(the below is just a guesstimate what Fitz may be thinking, plenty of players could move up or down their list by a spot, especially with a good preseason but even subjectively - I'm not trying to declare this is the true ranking correct over everyone on here's opinion)

1. Kennedy, Hynes, Metcalf
2/5. Katoa, Mulitalo, Tracey, Hiroti, Taumoepeau, Stonestreet*
3/4. Ramien, Tracey, Hiroti, Talakai, Wilton, Taumoepeau, (Metcalf maybe)
6. Hynes, Moylan, Trindall, Metcalf, Tracey, Graham, Rivett*
7. Hynes, Trindall, Metcalf, Tracey, Rivett* (Trindall a better "7" but Hynes a better player currently)
8/10. Finucane, Rudolf, Hamlin-Uele, Williams, Talakai, Hunt, Fifita, Pele, Calquhoun* (Wilton, McInnes can play prop but I don't think they ever get selected at prop)
9. Brailey, McInnes, (Trindall or Tracey maybe next?)
11/12. Graham, Nikora, Talakai, Wilton, Williams
13. McInnes, Finucane, Rudolf, Williams

*train and trial players or dev list

So half probably looks okay to me.

Prop is deep enough but could use a quality boost (around Talakai, Hunt level or better) - there are players who can get better enough to provide this boost themselves.

Centre asks a big question whether Fitz can turn Tracey into a dedicated centre or not, if he can't or doesn't want to then I think this is our most pressing need. Relies very quickly on forwards. Didn't include them as status for next season currently unknown but Ferris has an NRL game and Lualua was in 21 man and I think even named as 18 man at one stage so both of those guys may come into calculations. Lualua seemed to be preferred to JT. If one or both of those guys can come in and contest with Tracey/Hiroti for that 2/3 spot then we are potentially okay without buying anyone. If not them then I think buying another back may be required. I think Hannay and other staff can give Fitz a very good idea where Lualua and JT are at.

TBH a development contact hooker or depth hooker really wouldn't go astray either and edge is questionable if Graham can't make a full recovery so depth here also seems important (which could include just committing to it being Talakai's primary position)

Good rundown mate. I'd definitely include Lualua plus Martin as depth. For a dev hooker, maybe the plan is for Wilson to play for the Jets ??

You just can't include Tracey as a half imo, he stinks there.
Fifita and Pele would make a pretty poor starting prop pair too

Gave Lualua a mention just wasn't really sure what his contract situation will be, probably expect he will get something. Hopefully will be fighting for a start.
Martin also, just not sure his contract status but expect he will have something.
Vasquez I guess is another although seems to have slipped down the interest list.

Between Trindall, Hynes, Metcalf, Moylan and Tracey at a pinch I think we're OK but I wouldn't mind a bit a NSW cup player to be called up if we're desperate - A Sam Williams type. They can steer the Jets around and provide experience but also come up if needed.
I think there's a strong case for a Peachy type player. Moylan's hanging around does complicates things... I can't see him being left out of the starting squad as our 14 no matter how much we want it, and still expect he won't play out the season, which leaves us a green Trindall only getting to play patches of first grade or a greener rookie to fill in.

Martin is definitely under contract for at least 2022 and possibly more.

Lualua is under contract for 2022 only.

I just have both on the “other” list because teams don’t usually start to announce/confirm their development list players until November-ish.

Also on young middles... Thomas Giles has gone to Souths... and Finau has a club option in his contract to be on the development list for 2022.

Should have read this before I replied 🙂

Thanks for that run down. The two things that stand out are:
1. Mozza starting... if that's the plan and he plays the number of games we're expecting, the side has a lot of disruption coming through the season.
2. Our depth is really shallow. There's some reasonable question marks on depth in all positions, and virtually no known quantities to fill their shoes if called in, to the halves for example.

I think we really need a Peachy or Watson type... or the competitions lowest number of players used through the 2022 season to give it a proper shake

1. At the moment my guess is Moylan and Hynes starts, could definitely be Hynes and Trindall though. But how many games are we expecting Moylan to play? 89%, 44%, 38%, 63%? Hopefully he can better last season which would mean he is available for at least two thirds of games.
2. We do still have like 6 spots to fill which adds a lot of depth, particularly if some of those players don't join the end of their respective positional queues

Back to Moylan our win rate with him in team is 58%, 55%, 63%, 53% - the only one that isn't better than team win rate for that season is the first year where he played almost every game. Over past three years we have been statistically more likely to win with him playing.
His legs are definitely a concern though, I'm just hoping signs from this year have him on the mend.

Havent seen a rumour here for a while ;)

Interesting on Giles, nice pick up.

I know there was wraps when we got him from the Roosters but from what I saw he didn't stand out but was still young.

Keen to see Finau develop
