What can we as supporters do, I missed the game this afternoon with something else on. First game I've missed all year & lucky I did after after watching the highlights of that 2nd half. Some of that defence in the 2nd half once again was so poor. The same thing in the 2nd half has happened all season long. Unlucky Talakai missed out on his try in the 1st half, we would have won if that was allowed though unfortunately. No doubt that try would have been allowed for Melbourne, Roosters & Penrith though.

As I said I missed the game but in hearing about our coach deciding to play on with a man up, honestly I don't blame him, we kicked on the 2nd tackle aswell which is ridiculous I suppose he wasn't expecting that. In saying that, Tracey is pretty inexperienced in the halves in 1st grade though, he certainly has played very well in the centres this year.

Oh well what can we do, we can't do anything about that now unfortunately. Tracey probably feels bad about that now. Honestly though, being a big Cronulla fan it's probably best we miss out on the 8 this year, if we can't even beat the Warriors & Broncos & just struggle to beat the Dogs then we'd probably get flogged by the other teams in the 8.

Bottom line

Our forwards are too small and don't offload.

We allow the opposition to offload foar too much

Defence is crap

Our backs are too slow

Our halves are crap

We don't have a game breaker

We have been carved all year from the opposition fullback's.

Walsh, Turbo, Savage, Ponga. We just dont have it.

That’s a lot of bottom lines.

It's so obvious watching that our middle is all over the place. No line speed and the line is disjointed.
Watch us then watch Storm Manly it's like a different sport altogether

Hannay was backing the forwards to pull back from the previous weeks defensive issues.
when asked pre game by ennis.

I found his response not the strongest. hardly mentioned "yes we have spoken about that defensive issue, they know their job" but relying on their experience to solve that sort of problem. I'm not attacking Hannay - he's done his best this season with the circumstances, I just thought it would have been addressed the defence in the middle from previous wee as it was glaring obvious.

this week it needs to be addressed.

and spot on Tank, watching other squads...next level

He’s most certainly not helping the situation with his awful bench rotation.

If he’s only going to play Metcalf / Hiroti / Any back or half in that last bench role for less than 5 minutes he just has to be picking another forward to rotate out the tired men in the middle.

Couldn't agree more, been saying it for weeks.

Also carrying fifita for a 10-15 minute stint is beyond me. We essentially play with 16 players each week which I believe that is a big part of the reason we get destroyed through the middle by bottom tier teams.

Hoping next year McInnes starts hooker then shifts into lock with Brailey coming off the bench Cheese/grant Hodgson/Starling style.

I agree our bench rotation has been shockingly bad, but serious question. Do we have another middle forward to put on the bench, or do we put Mags (edge forward there)?
Plus, I actually think Metcalf should have been used well and truely before 180 secs to go!!!

It was disappointing but it wasn’t a try to the letter of the law. And if you honestly think it would have been awarded to those other clubs that’s just bunkum mate.

Yeah the problem is consistency .

There was one earlier in the round where the commentators said that they were glad that ‘common sense was used by the bunker - the defender was not going to get there ‘.

On that occasion common sense wait out over letter of the law ..

The one you are referring to, yes they let it slide as you mentioned but it was a lot different to Williams in the line & Aitken being disadvantaged, did Aitken milk it, yes, 100% but he was a legitimate chance of making a better attempt on Talakai, with him milking it, it forged the VR to call it how he did, infuriating, yes, but understandable hoe the decision was made.

I love the kid so it would hurt to see it happen, but that’s not a bad idea.

Talakai took the hole created by Williams impeding the defender. For every team in the comp its no try.

Multiple fines / suspensions to Warriors players for yesterday’s debacle - only a fine for Chambers for us from what I can see …

Except the other week when Storm had one allowed because of ‘common sense’ I’d agree.

I also don’t like that they say you have to go through the line but that you’re also expected to remain through the line when it is a dynamic thing. Williams was through the majority of line and Aitken was only impeded by him as he didn’t move up as far as rest and then had to angle further back. Not sure it is fair for the runner who didn’t receive ball to be expected to keep indefinitely moving forward until play ends. Not just this time either, that’s annoyed me a few times. Probably even just prefer the language to be that he can’t impede a defender, requiring players to be through a line that is not a straight line that can also move doesn’t make sense

This is correct - they usually apply the black and white rule - but once every couple of weeks the common sense approach slips in.

Can’t have if both ways …

There was a couple of things for mine that made it a no try. Williams had stopped. I don't think you can argue if you're not trying to get out of the line. And Talakai change direction to hit that hole. Adds up to creating an advantage which U think should be penalised
