We all wrote Ronnie and Kennedy off after their respective first games too

Aaron Gray had some howlers at the start too and turned in a couple of solid performances as well

Writing him off after his first game for the Sharks and for 12 months.

Same ****ers probably wanted Jayden over Blayke
The way I see it, it’s not a case of totally writing Nene off after 1 game. It just makes sense that Ronnie comes back in because he was on the wing before his injury, injected passion and enthusiasm into the team, played well, and didn’t do too much wrong. Nene didn’t have a good game, so it is logical that Ronnie comes back in for next week.

Nene isn't written off but he was probably fighting Goodwin to be 3rd choice and he probably lost that fight, so could be a bit before he gets another go unless he can earn that 3rd spot back at training

Yeah I don't disagree with that. Ronnie deserves his spot before Nene.

He had the slowest centre in the comp and a ****ing retard in 7 breaking the defensive line

His first game back in 2 years and he was second in meters and was the only one showing any kind of emotion during the game
Which is why this wasn’t the game to bring him in, especially considering we have the warriors next week. I thought he rushed in twice unnecessarily, but the point is he shouldn’t have played.

And 2020 football is very different due to set restarts, so he had to adjust to that too. He wasn’t the reason we lost.

He was dreadful and still ran 149 meters, our second most and only two players topped 100 for the game.
Didn't even look like he was making that many so probably could have had a lot more if he played better overall.

I don't think Talakai and Goodwin centre combo would have faired much better in my opinion.

Maybe if Talakai can get a good early shot on someone...
But most probably not. Enough issues across the park than there's probably no lineup of ours that wins that game on the day

Tbf didn’t he run half of those metres on the intercept

Yep, he didn't seem to make a lot of post-contact metres in his hitups, for his size anyway.

Early days though so I won't be critical of him in that area.

He shut down some big blokes with a couple of one on one tackles from memory though.

He’ll come good. Needs a full pre season with us. Next year he’ll be back to his best.

I really can't remember him that much. Serious question.

he killed it for the dragons

Moylan FB and Duges in centres is the only thing that might have kept us close

Not gonna write him off, anyone coming in cold with no reserve grade at moment, is gonna be up against it.

yea Trial or practice games would do Nene the world off good but don't really have that luxury. No one seem to want to see Hiroti again but we had to pick someone, it was Nene. Maybe Hiroti would have faired better, maybe he doesn't

It's the SF way - we are more careful these days though not to over hype players (burned too many times lol)

Available lineup I guess I should have said - unchanged lineup from week before would have been our best chance but even then lack of possession would have been costly. Probably lose 30-44 instead...

Re: trial or practice game he played in some kind of game the week before vs Titans but no idea what that looked like, all we know is we had 10 players take part in something.
I'd be happy enough for Hiroti to have another crack but he's at the bottom of a deep list now (unfortunately the list is more like 'who is the least ****')

Bomber's post game presser made is sound like Ronnie will come back in this week. If that's the case it would be Nene out?
Which is a pity. I'd like to see what we get with some match fitness in the guy. Based on history at least, he has more upside.

Ronnie was named to start but didn't pass final fitness test, odds are if he gets that close he is good for this week and definitely deserves to push out Nene (different story if Nene had actually gone well).
Wonder if we will see Ronnie on the right and Katoa back to the left though.

Nene struggled but was also stitched up by his centre struggling, his second rower struggling and the half losing the plot (presumably to try and cover for the others but ended up as the worst defender of the lot)
