Week one has it all

Sharks v. Raiders Toyota Park Saturday 6:30pm
This game could be anything. I think the only certainty about this game is the uncertainty of who is going to show up. I would love to see the Sharks go all the way now that the Titans are out, but I do think the loss of Greg Bird is going to have a massive effect. Maybe not this week, but it will take its toll. There is not a side in the comp that can handle losing a player of that calibre and one with that much influence in a side and expect that it’s business as usual. I hope they prove me wrong. Brett Kimmorley is playing great, they’re as tough as any side in the middle so who knows. Over the years it’s just been a matter of putting it together when it matters. I think this side has an edge over sides of the past and that is Ricky Stuart. The other side of the coin is the Raiders – wow, what a side they’ve been over the last six weeks. Campese is an absolute freak. He seems to just break the line at will. Colin Best was voted the best finisher in the game on Tuesday is on fire and the Raiders are steered by captain courageous, Alan Tongue. This one could be anything. We know the Raiders can rack up a score but the Sharks are equally as impressive in defence. I’ll take the Sharks by 14.
