We should offer Broncos Moylan or Dugan .. As if they wouldn’t be interested.

with that money we should go into the market looking for Holmes or a value option fullback until a gun hits the market

I think he’d be great. Would you sign him at the expense is losing Wilton though? Wilton will be an NRL regular somewhere by 2021 at the latest.

No reason for him to stay if his path is blocked by Wade Graham and 2 blokes under 25. I reckon at least half the teams in the NRL would chase him if he became available.

I haven't seen enough of Wilton to make too much of a call on that, what I have seen he looked good but a couple years off which fits with what you're saying.

Otherwise it'd come down to circumstances, in our current circumstances probably not, mostly due to Moylan funnily enough.

If Moylan had only played 11 games this year due to one standalone injury confidence of him playing a lot next year would be much higher - Moylan, Dugan, Xerri, Ramien, Morris, Johnson, Chad, Fifita, Brailey, Prior, Nikora, Graham, Matterson (Williams, BHU, Woods, Ruldof) probably has a serious crack at 2020 and 2021 and I'd 100% sacrifice a promising junior. Given questions around Moylan but also Dugan, Fifita/Prior, Johnson & Bomber being a clear cut top 4 side is more dubious so I wouldn't be as inclined to go as all out and retaining Wilton might play into calculations a bit more.

Isn't he on like 900-1mil? Wonder if someone will splash or they'll be forced to go around half price.

Not sure why people think we could get rid of Moylan without paying a fair chunk of his salary. It's just not going to happen.

100%. No club would be stupid enough to do that. We’ll be lucky to get away with only paying half, and that’s stretching it.

The very least we'd have to pay is $300k imo but probably more.

Not worth it, may as well give him another year and hope he stays fit.

Would we make a play for Mcullough? The Broncos saga is certainly going to provide some opportunities. No question they will consider Moylan as a half in their current predicament, especially considering there is no gaurantee Holmes even comes back next year.

I get the impression their fans would be very happy for someone to take Macca off them

It really was just one injury though wasn't it? Surely 5 months of proper rehab/treatment should have him all good.

20+ weeks missed with hamstring injuries (across both legs) since mid 2017
I wouldn't be betting the house that this off-season is the one that will fix the issues

Personally if Moylan is on 8-900k I would take a 300k hit and but another good player for 500-600k.

You could get some pretty good young talent for that

No. Not even 300k. We won’t get off that easy, clubs will know that they’ve got us bent over a barrel here if we need to cut him loose to get our cap in order. We’ll be lucky to get away with half.

Absolutely not to McCullough. Give Moylan another go at fb fit, and 6 if he can't keep the hammys right, before paying 300k for him to play elsewhere for two years.

Do you use it to buy an NRL starting ball playing fullback from somewhere?
Best bet would have been to over pay to pinch Pap or Hughes if Melbourne hadn't dropped Croft this season, they did in the end so it becomes much less viable.
Not sure what other options there'd be.

Or do you use it buy some better go forward and bank on making enough meters and having enough threats to get away with only one true ball player in your spine.

As much as I've been happy with Dugan if he went it'd be easier to buy an up and coming winger/FB (or two) to fight for a place in the team behind Moylan, Morris and Ronaldo, with a view to them ideally taking over from Moylan when he goes, or if they ended up not being starters you need to use his money to replace himself. That way you still have Morris that can cover for Moylan if the new guy(s) were a disappointment.
