Anyways hopefully Wade isn't too bad. Calves can be tricky, they were saying a bad cork or something on fox sports coverage. I think we cover the position pretty well with Bukuya/Capewell, but of course you want the origin players fit and firing into the finals.

I think Taga picked up something towards the end as well. Obviously he's easier to cover, but if Heighno gets charged with the lifting tackle it makes things a bit more annoying.

If Heino and Taga are out next week, it might be finally time to unleash Kurt Dillion. The guy has been so close to first grade most of the year, chomping at the bit. I'm expecting an excellent debut if he gets his chance.

I struggled all week whether I should bet on easts or not. They were paying 2.20 earlier in the week.

i knew we would lose regardless and got on at $1.91

I love my club & team, but ffs I'm a realist

penalty was the correct call - but that sorta of holding down/on in tackles had been going on all game, especially from the roosters who disguised it in their wrestling

at least the ref had the balls to make a call like that in a key moment but it should have been policed better earlier in the game and the precedent set. Gal has played 300 games though, he knew what he was doing and that it was risky, was just half a second too long.

shud of just let the dog ****er take another rubbish attempt at field goal and take our chances

Anyway Roosters defense was too good for our lacking attack and poor execution to overcome and so many times in that second half they got out of their end they ran up our side of the field and almost put on points. eventually they got some with that penalty, we played with fire and forgot to put it out. No excuses, we weren't good enough tonight and that was the best the roosters have played against us in years and it was still only a 2 point margin but that is irrelevant and of no consolation, they got the crucial competition points

Diabolical performance. Diabolical performance at home all season. 69% of the ball in the second half at one point and not a point scored.
And still in the game merely because the Roosters couldn't hold the ball.

Guaranteed finish outside the top 4. And given our current form, it'll be a miracle if we don't go out first week of the finals.

Effort was probably there. Execution was ****ing horrendous.

This. Just watched the replay after being at cricket all day. Couldn't fault the effort but the attack was like an old Abbot and Costello routine. No one seemed to know what anyone else was doing. "Who's on first?" :(

Ironically the penalty at the end was for an offence they got away with all night. They wrestled our players onto their back, then peeled off one by one, and to cap it off Hargreaves kept an arm on the players chest pinning him to the ground just to slow it down even further. The refs needed to stamp it out early but they didn't. It was like watching a melbourne game.

I agree. Holding down was rampant. To let it go 100 times and then call it in front of the sticks is BS. I would also argue that Cordner placed the ball before trying to get up. Players have been penalised in possession for doing that.

My other thoughts ...

Segy is useless.
Lewis is a Ninja
Beale is looking like a decent NRL winger over the last month.
The commentators last night were so Roosters biased it was embarrassing

Only chance of top 4 now is obviously us winning against knights and needing south to beat parra next Friday night. And Penrith to drop atleast 1 game sgainst either drags or manly. We have a similar F/A as Penrith. All these results will be known prior to us running out next Sunday. Jeez we have been frustrating this year, last night was a death by 1000 cuts.

Like everyone I'd disgusted by the loss and especially the performance. But I think we have to be realistic. No team goes back to back because to win a premiership every little think needs to go right, form, injuries, luck. Last year it did, last year we win that game because Maloney's field goal attempt doesn't hit the post. We won games last year when we played terrible. With the loss of Barba and Ennis it was impossible to go back to back.

It's disappointing not to finish in the top 4, but the reality is 4th is no better than 5th this year. Yes people will argue the whole second bite, however finishing 4th would guarantee the Sharks are playing in the second week of the finals, not having a week off, there's not a chance we could beat Melbourne in Melbourne at the moment. So if we finish 5th and it's a big if, it is no different, we still play in week 2. What it does mean is we would be unlikely to face Melbourne until a GF if we do find form and could well play 3 finals games in Sydney given the Roosters will now finish second.

But it doesn't matter anyway, we are cannon fodder for most of the finals teams, the rest of the league has caught up with us. The most disappointing this is firstly becoming a premier that quickly fades away and doesn't capitalise on being a top club and spending a few years competing. We are doing a Souths of 2015 with the injuries that battered them and gee look at them now, we have to avoid following their path. But the most disappointing thing is our failure to compete in front of our home fans, I can't believe most games I've been to this year I've had no confidence of a win, despite being premier and the lack of confidence has been justified as we've lost half of our games at home. That is so unfair on the fans or as Maloney would say the 'accessories'.

At least we'll go into 2018 without expectations.

Wtf did I just go and watch?

Very dissapointing.

Taking that 2 first up killed our early momentum. We should of went for the killer blow from the get go.

The Rorters tries were very soft. Liu and Fergo**** should of been easily held by our defence in those positions.

Boogie blew some good opportunities close to the line with poor handling. He was not the only one who let us down but.

Capewell absolutely ****s me. Doing this dumb right to left step every time he gets the ball. This is the NRL, they can read that move like a book. He did it atleast ten times. We miss Bird big time in the centres.

Second half we dominated from the get go. We lost this game ourselves with our crap offence. We were attacking their line for atleast 30 mins in that second half and could only get over the line when they went down to 12 men. That is a piss poor effort.

Fifs should take a leaf out of Matty Priors book and just run straght. Prior was immense last night, he and Lewis are the only two who can hold their head high. I do not understand wtf Jimmy was doing passing these lofted lobs in the air. Chad was no better - looked very lost last night. Do not even get me started with Seggy, wtf was this bloke doing, getting out of dummy half and just standing there like an inept twat. Correct me if I am wrong but when Paulo was mixing time with Brailey we were doing great. With that attack we do not stand a chance to out a dent in this competition come finals.

Bring on Manly in the first week of finals!

Agree with the taking the 2.

Theres so many opportunities to kick a penalty goal in the second half if needed. Taking it at the start, then backing it up with a **** set, then conceed a penalty they kick.....stupid. Our post penalty goal efforts are bad.

Sorry mate, finishing fifth doesn't guarantee we'll play week 2 of the finals. If we lose against 8th in week 1 we are out.

Obviously, but if we can't beat the Cowboys or another struggler in Sydney I'll give it away.

The rule book says it was not a penalty but the rule book went out the door years ago.

You cannot plant the ball and use it to rise to your feet, never have been able to.

That will go the other way in a game today, guarantee it will be called a scrum.

Anyway , we got what we deserved , we were poor.
