Funny thing is - if our handling and discipline was good we'd be 4 - 0 up with a good for and against, despite our patchwork, new combos team.

Just saying...

We could have easily made that a 40 point game. But every time we put them under any pressure, we'd hand the ball back

Was almost like their errors became contagious. I'm not worried about the sloppyness of the last 20 minutes. Was some hard hits the first half of the game from both sides. As the season goes on our attack will improve. Was holmes first full game at fullback and first time seggy played for us so happy to just get the win.

I would like to see a bit if dummy half running from Seggy. I think we looked better with Brailey on, but its still early days and Seggys first game of the season. two solid hooking options.

Exactly. The 2 losses were easily winnable games had we held the ball. I feel we have a bit of attitude this year. Like players have believed their own hype a bit.

We need to rape the knights next week. Put on a clinic

Same thing start of last season and we came good, reckon we will see similar this year

On tonight's form though we will only towel newy by 40 next week :-(

Very solid, never headed, shouldn't have let the try in on half time maybe.

That is what a week to week premiership defence should look like. The score flattered Parra, well done!

Oh dear. Newcastle next week is it. I almost feel bad for them.

There were at least 1 or 2 against them, but for most of the game the ref was very easy on them - so EAD eels

But there was 1 or 2 against us too. The forward pass at the start, the parra offside... this is why im never baggin the ref for a loss. Theres always a dodgy call or 2 but 99% of the time both teams get em

One of the guys on Fox (forgot which one) described it as "a 2015 Cronulla win". Tough, grinding and heavily reliant on defence while our attack was ordinary. Probably about right. Our attack this year is still a work in progress.

The defence is literally like watching a swarm of bees. It is the same defence as last year which makes it premiership defence. The attack isn't the same, but then again it is still very early. Attack is harder than defence in the modern era.

Good win tonight without ever getting out of first gear. Parra were awful thank God.
There is no way Jennings should be picked for Origin. He was very ordinary and from the times I saw Bird owned him.

Dropped ball and scrappy play should hopefully get less and less in the coming weeks. For those thinking the Knights game will be a 40 point game, please think again. If we are disciplined and hold the ball then yes we should put plenty of points on. Play like tonight and it will be much closer.

Prior continues to be one of our best. He hardly ever gets pushed back in the tackle and his one on one hits are bone rattling.
Gal was also huge. Hardly an error if any and led from the front.

Segyaro got a nice run but did nothing. Obviously not match fit. :p

Still having trouble erasing the image out of my head of BWB sitting on his lounge wearing a wetsuit and just letting the call of nature wash over him.

Eels dropping so much ball made it a lot easier on us tonight. Though credit to our team's defence, they scrambled and really made an effort.

Not our best performance but to win by 14 and score two well constructed tries was nice.

The brailey try was brilliant
