I mean the word on the street is that Cook is real keen to come over but that Souths won't grant a release. So I guess it's in limbo for now.

If we don't get him, it's really a big opportunity for Brailey to prove the coach wrong, have a massive pre-season and demand a spot. He definitely has the ability. Hopefully he will have Ennis working with him as well, the master of the 1%'ers to help him get him that hard touch needed for firsts.

Bulldog discard Tony Williams is set to sign on with the premership winning Cronulla Sharks on a 1-year-deal.

Williams who was told by the Bulldogs that they will not be offering him a contract for next season, looked set for him to continue his career in the Super League, as rival NRL clubs showed little interest in the former Australian and Origin Centre/Second-rower.

Cronulla Sharks are now believed to have thrown Williams a life line and has offered him a 1-year deal with with a 2nd year as an option for 2018.

The 27-year-old, Williams, is understood have agreed to these terms on a reduced salary then he was at, whilst at the Bulldogs and an annoucement of the signing will be officially released soon.

Williams has played a total of 164 NRL games, scoring 49 tries, with stints at Parramatta, Manly and Canterbury. He’s also played Represented Australia, Tonga and NSW.

I'm happy with the signing. If the money is good this type of contract could be what he needs to hit some form. Be interesting to see where flanno plays him next year

I'm predicting he will be a complete dud. Will have the odd good moment but these will be far outweighed by the typical crap he's become known for over the years.

If we keep taga and heino, can't see him playing more than half a dozen games..
Unless he taps into some vintage form or injuries hit us.

l have a feeling the reject forward whisperer will turn the Titanic, if not the one year contract may keep his head down and butt up. Wonder is it the club that has the option

I think we can turn his form around. I don't think he will be used the same way as he is currently at the bulldogs. I can see him playing small minutes in the middle of the field.

Think of a Taga like roll.

I also don't see him starting unless we have injuries. Think of him as taking JSL's spot in the pecking order. Something I am more than fine with as I would prefer T-Rex playing prop off the bench than JSL.

It comes down to whether we can get T-Rex to anywhere near his best. Physical and mental conditioning. It is certainly possible.

1 year deal too. If he flops he can almost certainly call it quits on his NRL career. He's coming into a new team, completely out of his comfort zone. I can see him putting in the hard yards and surprising a few people.

I was against the signing but if we have paid him a low ball contract with incentives I am ok with it.

Surely he knows that he is now on the nose, he needs to roll up his sleeves & have a go for him to have even a chance of earning good $ again.

Not sure what Flano will do or how he'll play him but if it was me in charge I'd be saying you are a middle forward, you make x amount of hit ups per two sets of 6 & you make your tackles while your on, none of this hiding out wide in the centres crap.

Could make for some interesting second phase play if both T-Rex and Captain America are firing at the same time

You can't just plonk players in the middle, especially as he's more of a wide running second rower. I'm not against him being in the middle but if Flanno gets him firing I expect him on the edge of a Maloney short ball is going to give teams massive headaches.

I like the fact he's not guaranteed to make the top 17 let alone the starting squad. Going to require a serious off season to get close to contention if are keeping both Heino and Taga.
