Haha some quality maths there. Whats your excuse for getting 100% of what you just said wrong?
Bad maths aside, it’s funny that people would use tackle % as a stat to gauge a fullback’s performance… as if making a 1 on 1 tackle in open field or trying to hold up a guy over the try line is exactly the same thing as defending at the ruck with 3-4 blokes around you to help.

Sometimes you see an interview where a young forward says how “hard” it is to defend in the middle. They are talking about how demanding it is fitness-wise. Defending in the middle is relatively easy in terms of making tackles and decisions. It gets harder the farther from the middle you get.

I don't think the argument is Will missing tackles, it's Will being in the position to even attempt a tackle.

curiosity got the better of me, only one fullback has attempted more tackles this year, hammer with 32

will has 31 attempts with 22 makes
By that I mean instead of going for an intercept or having bad positioning that doesn't allow him to even thrown an arm out for an attempt. He gets caught out of position often.

What's everyone's thoughts on Will new 2 year contract?

Do we think the club only offered 1 year and that's what stalled negotiations? No player that young is signing a 1 year contract, so maybe it was a money issue?

i'd have given him 3 - we have seen him healthy this year and he is elite

1 was the first offer as we were banking on dykes - 2 is inbetween and a saftey measure

3 seems fair and i'd probably agree. Maybe make the 3rd year a club option.

If Will continues on this trajectory, fantastic. It leaves us with a 5/8 dilemma. If Hynes is the long term 7, the club has to be looking for a 6 that nicely partners Hynes.

After just 4 games I think that William Kennedy is the biggest improver in the Cronulla Sharks from last season. Maybe too early to make a meaningful assessment but he's played well in every game. For those who had written him off in the preseason in favor of Dykes and were distraught after the injury, I welcome any revision in WK's perceived limitations.

Someone said he shouldn’t even be playing Rugby League!

We’re so dramatic 😂

Definintely based on his injury carrying form. But still a good step up from his injury free form, which was getting pretty special.
I get it though, it feels like so long ago we saw a fit Kennedy that he seems completely transformed.

Chairmans' qtrly update mentions Kennedy committing to the Sharks, was part of a larger paragraph mentioning Ramien, Katoa etc.

Probably didnt mean for it to come out like that, guess we might see a proper announcement very soon
