Mako Shark
Jason Stevens and David Peachey taking a calm approach to the crisis surrounding coach Stuart Raper in August 2005. Speculation mounted for several weeks that a number of players wanted out of the Sharks, while Peachey was publically critical of the fact that he had not been re-signed. A 46-6 thrashing by Wests Tigers at home was the final straw, and the Sharks were on the back page of the paper for days. Eventually CEO Steve Rogers called the players' bluff, with an ultimatum to the effect that he would release any player who requested it. None did, and the matter soon calmed down, with the help of a 40-16 win over Melbourne on the following weekend, and a 68-6 win over Manly several weeks later.
