Cronulla halfback Brett Kimmorley is confident his side's watertight defence will cancel out the Raiders' formidable attack when the teams clash at Toyota Stadium on Saturday night.
The Raiders amassed an impressive 640 points from their 24 regular-season appearances with only the Sea Eagles (645) outscoring them, while the Sharks posted the lowest return of the top-eight sides with 451.
But the veteran No.7 has backed his team-mates to stifle the in-form Green Machine with a trademark defensive effort.
"It's about turning up (with the right attitude)," Kimmorley said.
"I'd like to hope our defence means that they don't score 30 or 40 (points)."
"Our defence is (a source) of confidence for us and hopefully if we defend really well, well maybe we only need to score three or four tries to win."
While desperate to shut down the rampant Raiders in Saturday's qualifying final, Kimmorley admits he is a fan of their fearless approach.
"I've enjoyed watching them play," he said of Neil Henry's men.
"They play a good style of footy so it's going to be tough for us and they will know if they shut us down in defence they might be able to score more tries than us."
Kimmorley is confident the Sharks have ironed out their own attacking deficiencies in time for the playoffs.
"It's a good test but I think our attack's come good the last few weeks, we probably were not a great attacking side there for a while but I think over the last month when we've had to prepare for the semis and flick a switch we sort of have," he said.
Asked if his side is capable of keeping pace with the Raiders attacking prowess, Kimmorley replied: "I don't know if we can match it but it's about making sure we take our chances and execute really well."
"And I think that's where our strengths are that over the last month we've scored of the plays we should have scored off, we haven't run the wrong lines or dropped a bad pass."
The 31-year-old conceded shutting down form playmaker Terry Campese would go along way to securing victory, but warned the Raiders are more than a one-man show.
"Certainly one of their strengths is the fact that he (Campese) is a great runner of the football and I suppose he's a bit old-school, he's a big five-eighth so he's going to be very dangerous," Kimmorley said.
"A lot of guys down there are playing good footy for them ... it's (going to be) a great game."
